Pinpics Groups might be going...
Further, this is not about WHO is wrong...or why it is WRONG...it is to highlight that PINPICS needs to Bump all pins to the WHAT'S NEW page when ANY additional info, content, description or change is made to the original entry. This used to be done for YEARS prior to some newbies buying the site....

(and at this point..I cannot even call Pinpics owned by newbies...as the NEWEST OWNER doesn't even trade pins!!)
 
Perhaps what they should do for the concern you have Diana, is make a "whats new" for new pins only, and a "updated" section as well.... Maybe you could suggest that to them?

But thats not what this thread is about, it is about a concern that pinpics might be getting rid of the groups function. Which i don't think will happen, I think they are just stopping additional groups until the newest reboot rolls out.
 
Wow I did not expect this thread to trail off as it did, if it continues I will politely ask a mod to close as this was meant as a simple discussion of if they went would people mind or did people want them to stay if they were to indeed disappear.

This arguement about pinpics comes up to often than a zombie in Walking dead....

I am doing that HERE, as I have been unceremoniously BANNED from Pinpics for pointing out exactly these kinds of points (among other things that make one question the credibility of the database).

So...someone else needs to make mention -as I am SILENCED on that Database...even though my 10,000+ photos are still there, along with my notes...

I made this thread SOLEY to mention groups might be going NOT what they information they contain and to see if people would be bothered if they were to go as I know I have used them in the past that is the whole point in this thread and why it was made.

You know, a sort by "how bad I want it" is something I've wished for on Pinpics since I started trading. It never occurred to me to use private groups for that, but it's a great idea! I hope they keep groups around so I can start doing this too!

I have 3 private groups. one for my oldest daughter one for my youngest and one for me. pins wanted for the collection and pins owned. If I get a pin that is wanted, it gets moved to the bottom of the group list as owned. works great when i keep up on it. lol
 

You can show people your private groups by giving them the direct link, right? Like some people have in their sig?
 
Call me old school, but I really like and frequently use, the Pin Groups page. Over the years it has been indispensable not only in locating certain pins, but also for discover many other pins that I didn't know existed, yet alone needed. LOL. If "change is good", then change the Groups page to make it a bigger, better and more helpful resource instead of eliminating it.
 

Did you completely skip over my link to the Internet Archive where I showed that the pin was part of the group in 2001! Why are you saying I changed it in 2012? Someone changed the Title of the pin in 2012, but they DID NOT add it to the group at that time. It was always there!

Why, I'm bothering, I don't know. Apparently, links to conversations concerning the set from when the pins were being actively released in May of 1998 (where was your Supertrader working at that time?) means nothing. Links to cached pages from Pinpics from 2002 mean nothing.
