I am trying to figure out how to find the pin # for my pins. Are they on the pin itself? I don't really understand how to find that? Any & all help would be appreciated (: Thank You!

The pins aren't marked anywhere. PinPics is an unofficial inventory system that is built by users adding pins to the database. The Pinpics numbers which get used as a method of identification is simply the number the pin was given when it was added to the database. The numbers are assigned in chronological order of addition, so the first pins added to the database will have the lowest number. They aren't assigned in release order, so pins that are older might have a higher number than a pin that was released later.

Use the search function to help pull up a list of possible matches to your pin, and then use the picture and description to narrow it down further. Alternatively, if you have a lot of pins that came from the same series, ie 2011 Hidden Mickey pins, you can look for the appropriate pin group and add pins to your personal lists from there.

well explained ladies, it took my a few days to "get it" also when you press search, then disney pins, scroll down to the box where you type....lets say you do robin hood (an easy one, not alot of pins) next screen will say 67 pins for ex and how many pages--then in the top right hand corner you have the option to view in list or in all pictures. I find when looking for a pin that you have no idea what series or group it is from to view in pics. I love pin pics, now i am organized.

Yeah, Pinpics- while a TOTAL life saver- is not the *most* user friendly system in the world. It took me a while to figure out that I didn't have a special link for myself, and that I had to type my name into the search fields.

I also used the "Groups" function forever until I figured out that the search box was much, much better for finding what I needed.

And finding the little icons for thumbnails was a godsend- for a while, I could only see in text. ::shakes head::

I think it takes a while for most of us to figure out the little quirks on Pinpics. A little tutorial on the site would have been nice...
