I'm having trouble contacting a trader on PinPics. I don't remember if I can post the username/email or not on here, so if you want to help PLEASE PM me.

We agreed to trade on 9/18, and I sent my pin to him/her on 9/19. He/she emailed me saying that they received the pin (DSF Jessica Camera PP#85433), and that he/she was going to send out their pin the next day!

1st of all, we did NOT agree that I would send my pin first, then his. In fact, I have many more references than he does on dizpins.

2nd, it is currently 10/22, and it was been over 3 weeks since he sent the email saying how he got my pin and how lovely it is.

Can SOMEONE please help me find this person??

Calvin

**UPDATE**
When I type in the traders username in pinpics now, it says that his username is not a registered username. What's going on? Super suspicious to me.

Have you e-mailed this person to ask them for the DC number of your pin? That is one way to start the ball rolling. They might then say they did not use DC, at which time, you will ask tell them you have not received their pin and could they tell you the exact date they sent it.

If they cannot answer these questions, your best bet is to tell the pinpics moderators and ask them for help.

Sorry this happened to you. I hate it when it happens to me.

Thanks for the advice. I have already tried to contact him various times, and PinPics mods no longer help with bad pin trades. The most you can do on PP is write a complaint about the trader and it goes through an automated system.

All PM's replied to. Thanks everyone for your help. I posted updated information about the trader in my original post.

Sorry that happened to you & hope you get either your pin back or the one promised to you. So Pinpics mods wont do anything to help with bad trades anymore? Good to know..

Quoted from pinpics.com: "(1 Aug 2009) As indicated on our home page and in the forums, the Trade Reporting System is no longer administered, and our moderators are no longer handling escalated issues. Members are invited to continue using the automated portions of the complaints system, but no escalation process will be available."

All in all, you are on your own. It is up the to individual to check references but even that, one is sending blind. I have found that if the pin is in the Under $30 range, I can send within the states with DC or Signature and be fairly sure it will get there. If the pin is in the over $30 range, I would use a Moderator within Pinpics or DPF. They are usually able to do this for you. You will pay a little more due to postage and LBE but with $$ pins, I would pay the extra amount to make sure a harder, rarer or $$$$$ pin gets to each other.

There are many discussions on this site and Dizpins on this issue but when it comes to you and your pin, all the chat means nothing and all you want is your pin or pin back. Good luck and follow the proper channels with both sites and let us know the conclusion.

I will consider myself very lucky then because all of my trades I've made through there have been problem free & everyone I've traded with has been very nice & I would (& have) traded with again, in fact, just sent out a pin yesterday to someone I've traded with in the past. Too bad some people feel the need to take advantage of others.

One thing I can suggest is you send another email to the trader and let him know that if you don't receive a response and/or your pin, you will be submitting your case to the post office for a case of mail fraud. That usually gets the ball rolling.

I have had to do that on several occasions; twice on eBay (once where I even had escalated it to the point of getting actual contact information, called, still didn't get my merchandise, and filed a complaint with the post office [and about two weeks later, got my merchandise]). This was at least 5-7 years ago. The second ebay transaction was earlier this year (but had to get my $ back from my credit card company). Third time was through a trade on Pinpics (guy never acknowledged receipt of my pins but I had the DC and saw he got it; I ended up contacting him on multiple occasions and then, at the last resort, telling him about mail fraud and I ended up with my original pins back).

I'm not blaming PinPics, nor am I blaming anyone but myself for the trade. I am merely asking for help to see if anyone knows this person so that I can figure out what to do next. I don't need copy and pastes from PP saying that I'm liable for myself and blah blah blah. I already know that, but I created this thread to see if I can find any other ways to contact the trader.

Thanks for everyone that has tried to help me thus far.

Well I would do what I suggested in the PM..I have done that before
and what a shock they get when I am on the phone..and I get my pins too

Sounds like Pinpics got enough complaints to pull the party. Keep the address on file, just in case they try to come back under another username. Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Please take comfort in the fact that this is not the norm.
