We recently launched trade auctions at http://www.pintradingdb.com/auctionList.php

How it works:
- User contacts me or a mod to get account upgraded to "Verified User" for free. Just send us where we can see a good amount of positive feedbacks for you.
- user creates auction with a description of what they have, if they want money or pins as bids, a reserve bid if they want one, and a pic.
- other users create bids on the auction in a similar fashion. All users can bid, but a winning bid from an unverified account may be required to send first.
- new bids will be displayed in green, updated bids in yellow. The auction owner will then order the bids to create the leaderboard and "confirm leaderboard. All the bids will turn gray. New and modified bids after this will show up green/yellow until auction owner reorders and confirms leaderboard.

We also have a contest in conjunction with this launch. http://www.pintradingdb.com/contest.php You get one entry for every auction you bid on.

We are currently looking for users who would like to auction something. For a limited time starting your first auction will result in a 10 balloon reward (can be used to enter contests later and other stuff).

Quick suggestion: it would be useful if we could click on the username somewhere in the auction, so we can jump to that person's wants easily.

You are right vixy, how embarrassing that none of us noticed that. I have added it as you suggested and awarded you 3 balloons for your helpful feedback.

Sweet! Not sure when I'll be able to post an auction, but if you want to upgrade me to a verified user I'll try and get something posted Love the site! I slowed down pin trading during my finals but working on getting back in the swing and adding some more pins to the site. Your contests are always fun!

Oops I forgot to mention the reserve rules. Yea you can set a reserve and it will be loosely interpreted by the mods, in favor of the auctioneer if they decide they want to cancel at the end. I generally post a reserve as a simple $ trade value, but you could also do things like "must include this pin in bid".

We are working tirelessly to get word of this trade auction system out there, but in the meantime we definitely want to protect auctioneers from an inadequate number/quality of bids.

I love the idea of the auction system and how it is set up. I think the rules/directions could be more clearly defined/posted somewhere on the PTDB site. I've been bidding but not sure I'm doing it right. I love all the additions so far! Especially being able to select, when uploading photo, if it is normal, a scrapper, etc.
