That's a great story of civic engagement!I'm going to try!
I am so tweeked! You know how you're supposed to get a sticker after you vote? Well, our voting location didn't have any! I was annoyed and angry and completely confounded. Fortunately, right outside the voting location was... a bake sale! To make myself feel better, I bought a plate of frosted sugar cookies (you read that right - a plate) with red and blue sprinkles that I shared with myself and other folks at work who voted. It was my way of saying "Thanks for voting and thanks a ton for the stickers!"
I trust y'all so mentioning you voted here is enough for me.Colorado is a vote by mail state (but there are still polling places if you bring your unused mail ballot). So we turned in our ballots on Sunday. I suppose I could dig out the torn off strip from the top of our ballots from the recycle bin, but I don't know if that will qualify as "proof."
Umm, firemen... That alone would make me want to go vote. Rrowr!Darn, just like Tokaji, there was no stickers. I was mad because this was one of the first years I have had to go to a polling place... since I got married my voting registration got all screwed up.. hopefully I will be back to voting by mail by 2020. I even got to take my husband's ballot in with me today. I do have to say that working so close to home now makes voting at the polling location easier. However, the place I had to go today was a fire station and it was a busy day for them... we got to hear dispatching for 3 calls while I was there. My brother is a fireman so that always interests me.
Awww! How cute! And that is ten entries. I will run a randomizer as soon as I get baby down.
I used to do something like this too. My mother works in government and I sometimes told candidates who she voted for...it was sometimes their opponents. She stopped telling me who she voted for after it happened a few times. If you wouldn't mind pm-ing me his favorite Disney movies I would love to send something to him and you for reminding me of those memories. My son was so excited because I let him bubble in my choices. I kept pointing for the sake of discretion but he felt the need to confirm every time and in doing so declaring to the entire polling place who those choices were. This was us...me pointing, him saying name, me shushing him...repeat...
