Poker for Pins???
Can pins and poker go together…???
Hmmm… They are my two favorite hobbies… but how???
I have an idea!!!!!
I am going to go to my first DSF pin release for the Brave pins… I have never been out to the Soda Fountain this will be my first visit… But what I do know about it is that you have to sit there ALL NIGHT…
Well since I am not one who does well just sitting there, I thought that it might be fun to play a little poker with my fellow pin traders… Not for money… But for PINS…LOL
I would have to guess out of the 100+ people who will be there, that there must be some others who like to stay occupied during the long hours and like to play poker…
So after thinking about it for a while, this is how I think it will work…
We will have short quick No Limit Hold-em Tournaments, there will be a maximum of (7) players in each. (They should last no more than 1 hour for each tourney)
All pins have a set point value based on the special chart below
Entry into a tournament will be 100 points
These will be structured multi-level tournaments with the blinds increasing on each round
Rules will follow basic W.S.O.P. rules of play.
These will be winner takes all tourneys…
Pin Point Values for entry and for play
All pins must be true Disney Pins (No Scrappers please)
A Rubber pin back 1 point (see note below)
A basic Trader/Hidden Mickey 5 points
A Limited Edition Pin (2500+) 10 points
A Limited Edition Pin (1000-2499) 20 points
A Limited Edition (500-999) 30 points
A Limited Edition Pin (100-499) 50 points
A Limited Edition Pin (1-99) 100 points
PoDM Any Movie Any Scene 100 points
Pins not falling into the above categories or that you feel may be valued at the full 100 point entry must be agreed upon by fellow players…
***NOTE*** All Pins must have rubber backs upon entry, and only pin values may be used for entry into the tourney… But after entry, the backs may be removed and count as one point each for purposes of betting during play…(LOL…The more pins you buy in with, the more bonus points)
I am sure there will be a learning curve on the first tourney, but if it goes well and there is enough interest, I bet we can play till morning…LOL…
So if you are interested in maybe killing some time while waiting through the night playing some poker, please comment to this thread that you may be interested… And I'll bring the cards...:hsd:
