Hellos guys,

Does anyone trade/collect pressed pennies? It is something I just got into and just wondering if other people took an interest in it!

Cant wait to hear what you have to say!

Thanks

I have 4 pennies, all Kim Possible ones. I'd like to get some of the NBC ones I've seen though, just 'cos I think they look neat.

Nope, although a friend did get a few princesses. We got very shiny pennies from the store to press

Yes, I've been collecting them since WDW's 25th anniversary. WDW & DL pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. I'm sure I could buy a lot of nice pins for the amount of money that I have destroyed.

I've been collecting pressed pennies for years! its a fun hobby that does not cost much. I try to collect the pennies wherever I go. And of course the majority of them are from Disneyland. I'm always looking for people to do some penny trading for other Disney (or any other penny really) that I may not have.

Here's the link for a thread I started awhile ago showing part of my collection. It has grown since I posted it. There is some good information to be found there.

Ooooh love pressed pennies and always look out for them when in the US. We have a few books full and am looking forward to March when we are returning to WDW and can collect a few more.

Wow.. I wasn't thinking I was going to get this many responses. =]

It's is awesome that you all take at least a little interested in them and some more.

Yosoy: that info was GREAT.. you have a wonderful collection. I hope to be there soon! I like how disneydan set up his coins... Just seems like A LOT of work! lol I would love to trade when my collection gets bigger.

I noticed that with the junkie pennies I found myself going back to re-do them because you can hardly see the design so good thinking before starry.

So far I got about 30 P, 3 N, 3 Q so it was a lot of pressing for my first weekend! lol Hopefully it continues to grow.. QUICK!!! hehehe!

I just found a book half way filled from years gone by . Pressed Pennies and Quarters , I'll trade them all for a few Beauty & The Beast wants . Not anything limited . Just some retired open edition or cast lanyards . You can have the book too . It's from WDW .

Parkpennies (http://www.parkpennies.com/) is probably the best site there is for referencing elongated coins of disneyland.
I have a collection of well over 10,000 pressed coins. Disneyland is my all time fav. I have all but 23 ever made.

Some believe it or not are worth over $5,000.00
I can tell you anything and everything you ever wanted to know as I have done this for many years.

I am personal friends with the site owner at parkpennies and he has a wealth of information on his site.
I believe I owe you something too............. I would be happy to send you a care package.

The ones to really collect from DLR are the seasonal coins. Some have ben around for years while other are out for only 1 - 2 months.
Nightmare quarters, seasonal nickles and best of all, cast retirement pennies.

I also try to press them in a couple of formats. Old school copper and new school zinc. They have a totally different look.
Then I will also press with Wheat back pennies and on special occassions Steel pennies (1943 wartime steel pennies) They are a bit hard on the dies so you have to make sure they dont have a magnet to pick them up and you loose it. I also use brass blanks, these look very attractive.

Drop me a PM and I will put together a care package for you.
I know I have your address somewhere from the past but please include it.

I also collect them from all over the world and am in like 5 different group.
I have them for everything you can imagine and some you cant.....lol

Talk to you soon.

Before I really got into pins, I collected these! Had a book (which at this point is overflowing) and everything! Most from WDW, some from other random places. I have at least 40, probably more. All from 2006 or earlier.

I was looking at what I had and most are from Animal Kingdom, one from the Rainforest Cafe and then various characters , The Quarter is MM . Anyone interested ? Some have gotten dull , but I have a cleaner that will bring them back .

We definitely collect pressed coins. There is an excellent site pressed coins.com. He has an awesome cataloging numbering system. I even have some extra that I would trade for ones I don't have.

I collect them!! I am currently looking for Tangled pressed coins.

I have Rapunzel from WDW and a Rapunzel from HKDL~ (not for trade)

but I have other characters I would be willing to trade.
