When the fairy tale couples were announced I was disappointed their was no Aurora and Phillip but having seen the leaked pictures of Aladdin and the prince I'm thinking Phillip would have only looked like his play doll with extra embroidery so I'm less disappointed now! Anyway I plan on getting the Ariel and Rapunzel couples set as they are my favourite princess's after Aurora. But I'd like to buy a Phillip to put with my designer Aurora. Which Phillip is the best released? The current one? And would it fit with quality of the new couples princes! Also would just like to say regarding designer Aurora, I removed her net petticoat and her dress looks 100% better x

I can't post a link because it's ebay, but I think what one seller is calling the 1991 Mattel version is best. Mainly because he comes with a sword, shield, and hat. I don't own him so I can't give a detailed review, but his clothes and accessories seem best.

He is my favourite prince! I wish their was a doll in the black/brown outfit! I'm thinking the Mattel is the best because it has the hat and cape x
My sis got the doll back in 1991 (loves Sleeping Beauty), I highly recommend the Mattel Classics Prince Phillip doll and you can remove his blue top to get the black/brown "horseman" outfit underneath

Oh yeah the 1991 version is definitely best, my older sister and I had him when we were smaller. I don't remember what happened to him - 99% of our male dolls lost their heads within a year of being bought - but his black and brown shirt and red cape lingered among our collection for years.

Awesome idea! I started a "Designer John Smith" a while back but I never finished him. And now I'm starting Designer Gaston, for my own personal amusement. I can't wait to see how this turns out!
