I was told last month that the release of these pins on March 14th was the only one they were ever going to have, has anyone heard anything different or seen them in the parks? I was able to get a full set for myself but I am trying to help a friend piece one together and not having much luck through PinPics. Is everyone holding onto theirs or is there hope to make a full set of these reasonably?

Here is a pic just in case you are not sure what I am talking about. Thanks in advance for any info you may have.

They are limited release, so they may or may not come back. They have not been seen in the parks since the morning of the 14th. Their really wasn't all that many available at DLR and they sold out quickly, though I think they were available for longer at WDW. Prices on ebay have not been too bad up till now - around $11 to $12 each for most, but there are definitely less listed now than a few weeks ago. I would guess that many are holding on to what they have and may put a slightly higher value on the ones they have than what people are currently getting on ebay.

Of the limited people that got them, most were able to get 2 - 5 complete sets if they wanted, so there should be people that have extras.

I was told about a week before they were released that they were only going to be available on that one release date as they were made in such limited quantities. I decided to go to LA to get them myself because I did not want to miss them or be gouged in the secondary market because I really wanted the whole set. I started a thread about the information I got last month because I wanted members to be aware that if they wanted them they should get them while they could, the person that told me works in the corporate office for Disney and has never given me bad information. Several members told me I was mistaken and that they would be back in a couple of weeks or a month so I just said whatever and moved along. I hadn't thought about them again until now when a friend contacted me for help. She has been trying to trade for them on Pinpics she is not having any luck even though there seem to be a lot of people trading them.

I am quite confident that fragility is not the cause of the scarcity because they were always intended to be a very very limited release and they don't just "make more" of any limited runs. On that note, I have worn mine several times including at DLR on some pretty choppy rides and I have yet to have any of them break, is there something that you have had a problem with? Any info would be great to know as I wear some of them on my hoodies/sweatshirts and it would really suck to break them because I really love them. So please let me know how or where you have had problems so I can be on the look out.

If anyone has a complete set or sets that they are looking to trade/sell can you please let me know?

I am really not sure what this could be about other than maybe cry babies that missed out on getting them when they were in the parks and are now trying to bad mouth them to get them cheap. Just so everyone knows (if you didn't already that is) they do not just "make more" of any LE/Limited Release pin, they make what they ordered period. That is how I knew that there were still TONS of Pixar Mystery pins sitting in a warehouse being slowly shipped out at random times when other people were telling me that they were never coming back and that they were worth the ridiculous prices that people were trying to sell them for months ago.

The Carousel pins were made months and months ago in the amount requested just like every other pin and these rumors are crazy. Guess I should go back and find my thread from last month to see who was saying they were coming back and see if they will sell me theirs or help spread the rumors that they suck so I can get more of them cheap! Hey everyone these pins suck so please just give them to me for free! I need like 10 sets so instead of throwing them away hit me up please.

But on a serious note has anyone actually had any problems with these pins, I am asking because I do not want to risk losing or breaking them as I wear them on my coat regularly and although I have yet to have a problem and the construction seems sound to me I would really hate to mess them up.

I have a few of them and have worn them on my lanyard. Haven't had an issue with them.

Yes, Disney can and dose make more runs of Limited Release pins. Recent examples include the Gear Up for Adventure mystery pin set and the Family Portraits Reveal Conceal set.

Given that Disney would have need to see the sales before reordering and the time it takes for them to be made and shipped over, I would say that 2-4 months is a reasonable time period for a reorder to come in if they were reordered. With the instant sell out, I would be surprise if Disney does not reorder them.
 

I have not had any issues with them and I have the whole set and my mom has bought several of them. When handling them to put them on my page they did feel really fragile, but nothing ever broke

I hope everyone still looking for them can get them! They are so pretty in person and while Rapunzel's face is indeed horrendous, you can barely notice her because Maximus is the main feature of the pin (He's kinda cute all dolled up :lol All the best in your search Molly!!
 
I don't think they are ALL ugly. I really like Belle's, Ariel's and Jasmin's! I think they look great! I haven't seen Rapunzel in person, but she does look alittle, well, not cute. haha~
 
I think most are good. Rapunzel is way off, and Mulan's mouth is a little off, but other than that I think they did a good job.
 
I have several and they are very sturdy to me. I am careful with my pins but didn't see a need to be any more careful than normal. My daughter has some on her bulletin board even.
 
I heard 2 different things, both of which means they won't be back.

1~ They were released for the princess fantasy faire. *doesn't make sense if they got released at wdw too*
2~ The quality issues discovered upon release means that unless they change the manufacturing, no more will be made.

However, I think both stories are CM's making uneducated guesses (they do that you know) They might be back, they might not. The R/C girls were LR and never returned. Why should these return?

as to problems with them: Tom has the Merida, she likes to pop off the pole. I have seen others that pop off the pole as well.

I heard DLR released 1500 boxes. I never heard for certain what WDW released - either 1500 or 3000 there. So currently it looks like there may be only 600-900 of each pin unless they re-release it.

These sold out instantly. The Disney Girls set was available for a while. I kept making trades on them and kept going to the park to rebuy the ones I just traded. They lasted a couple weeks and was not an instant sell out like these were.

yes but there wasnt the wierd trend going on then like there is now where people are buying whole blocks of boxes. Recently, anything LR is selling out fast on the off chance it will be a good trader or seller. Heck even the OE kissing couples pins were "hot" purchases that people bought in large qty. That was not the norm back then.
 
I haven't had any problems with my set, but they are tucked safely away in their pin book. I love the set, not for the girls, but for the horses. As long as the horses are beautiful, I don't care if each of the ladies look like zombies...lol
 
Well my question has been answered I suppose. The info I got last month was correct and they wont be selling any more of these. Maybe we can keep it on the hush hush so the prices don't blow up before my very sweet friend is able to get at least one full set. Very happy to see that only one person seems to have had a structural problem (sorry Tom), I like wearing mine pretty much anytime but especially to my DD's riding lessons where they are always appreciated and cherished by the other girls I have given them to so it would suck to be worried about them or to stop letting them out for fresh air.

I agree that the horses are FABULOUS and the ones that have the glitter instead of the Princesses are even better, which I think are just the Crack/zombiepunzel and Merrida if memory serves me correctly.

Well you heard it here first back in March (before the release) that they were going to be a one time shot, I hope you got yours then or can jump on em now before they are on lockdown.

I am still looking for more so hit me up if trading or selling please
 
Are you trading for a full set for your friend from your extras? or does she have a pinpics id and extras of her own? or are you (or her) trading for the missing ones she needs and not for the full set?
