Princess Carousel Mystery Pins
Which pins does your friend need? I had my parents get me a full set and 3 boxes as extras. My Mom is keeping the extra Mulan, but I will have an extra Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Snow White and Tiana. My biggest problem is that I get my pins whenever they get around to shipping to me, so I don't have them on my trade list until I physically have them in hand (which I currently don't) and I don't know when I'll actually have them.

As for Limited Release pins, in general they come out once and that's it. But by calling the "limited release" they could theoretically order more, like the previously mentioned Family Portrait Collection. Those originally came out in February, and the conceals matched specific reveals. Then they were restocked in July. It was obviously a 2nd order, and not a scheduled later delivery, because when they returned the conceals were different.

Because these sold out so fast, I would not be comfortable assuming these are completely gone until a similar time had passed. So since these came out in March, if we don't see anymore in the Aug/Sept timeframe, then I would say it was one order, and one order only. And what DL people say, may not matter if it's a WDW based person controlling the ordering.

I think this has already been said, but I did see the rapunzel in person and it looked awful. I was very disappointed. I have ariel and Merida on my lanyard and LOVE them. They seem pretty sturdy, no problems here!

A few of us talked to the guy coordinating the release at WDW and he gave us the breakdown on the box distribution. He said that DLR ended up only getting 300 boxes(though considering he was in WDW, he could be wrong on that one). WDW ended up only getting 1200 boxes and he gave us the numbers for how many went to each location that day. I did the rounds at opening to each place in WDW(Contemporary, MK, Studios, AK, DTD, Epcot) chatting up cast members at each one and the numbers matched up to what he told us.

Assuming this is accurate then there is a total of 1500 boxes making them LE 300s. Granted, I don't know how much he has to do with DLR and I wasn't there to confirm their numbers so the DLR number may have been inaccurate.

I heard DLR released 1500 boxes. I never heard for certain what WDW released - either 1500 or 3000 there. So currently it looks like there may be only 600-900 of each pin unless they re-release it.

Thanks.

I know for a fact that DLR had more than 300 boxes. Pin Traders in DTD said they had 200 boxes, Westward Ho had 220. A couple of the hotels had 10-20, Emporium had some, LGM had them, and Julius Katz had them in DCA I believe, but I don't know how many. I'm not sure if there were any other locations that had any throughout the resort. They also pulled boxes for Phone Orders that were fulfilled.

It's interesting that in some other Limited Release listings on the old ODPT, they did have some of the releases listed at 2400 boxes. If they did the same on this one, maybe it was 1200 boxes in WDW and 1200 boxes at DLR which would be 480 per pin...

I was at DLR on release day and went to EVERY single location that had them. I started at Pin Traders because I was told beforehand that they would have the lion share of the boxes and they did by FAR. By 7:30am the line was probably 30+ people long. Not everyone in line purchased 10 boxes but that was the MAXIMUM that you were allowed to buy as you could buy 2 of each princess that was showing so 2X5. Several people were turned away from that line so I can tell you that they did not have 300 of them. I know for an absolute fact that two of the hotels each got 10 and the Disneyland Hotel got 20. I know because I hit up each one in rapid succession as I was buying for several people and desperately wanted to get them pins at cost. Based on the numbers I saw and what I was told by the CM's at each location the 300 box total sounds exactly right with PT in DTD probably getting a little bit over 200.

As for amounts ordered of each type or style of pins, I can tell you that from what the person I deal with in corporate told me, when they do a run of any Limited Release pin they order X amount of them at one time and do not ever re-order or re-produce them ever. Think about what production of these is like, they have a mold/template and they make X amount, if they do not destroy that mold/template there would eleventy million of them being sold on ebay. They destroy them to prevent reproduction and they have a person that sees to it thankfully. If they could simply re-make or re-order them that would mean that the molds/templates were just chilling in China until they needed them again and umm no. They may release some now and some later but there are not "re-orders" of any limited release pins. I know for sure that there are still a couple of limited release pins sitting in warehouses being slowly trickled out but these are not one of them.

My post was to see if anyone had seen or heard anything different than what I was told last month in hopes that she was just wrong and there would be more of them. I know how much it sucks to want full sets and be shot down.

As to the buying/trading questions my friend is very new to collecting so she is a buyer more than a trader. I will trade some of mine for her but would prefer to stick to cash. If selling in the neighborhood of $12.00 a pin like Eric hit me up in PM and I will buy as many as you have of ANY princess.

Thanks again for all the input it helps when we as a community know the facts and not just the ridiculous hoopla/spin that we are fed by resellers/crybabies or other drama queens. The truth is always the answer.

Be excellent to each other.
