My girlfriend and I are attending the D23 Expo this year. I was just wondering if there are trade areas or anything at the event?

I read somewhere that there will be a trading area. There is also a sticky thread on DPF with various links about the expo. There are a couple members that are holding their own additional trading get togethers.

In 2009 there was an enormous trading area, located just outside (behind) the dream store in the convention center. There were several people there trading throughout the day and many that would just come in and out throughout the weekend. This year the map of the Expo shows the trading area to the right of the dreamstore and it appears to be a much smaller are than we had in 2009 -- but nonetheless, still a specific designated trading area.

I was just looking thru the D23 Expo Guide and here is what it says:

Dream Store Showcase and Trading Area: Find out more about what’s in store from the world of Disney theme park merchandise, including Disney pins, Vinylmation, Duffy the Disney Bear, limited-edition ear hats, and more. This special area is the place to trade, collect, and swap stories and collectibles with fellow Disney fans. Trading times may vary.

At the 2009 D23 Expo the trading area was way too large. Lots of empty space. There was not much trading going on. I am sure this is why they shrunk it for this year. It was a big waste of space. The vinylmation trading was a lot more fun then the pin trading. Hope they do that again.
