I went to the post office to inquire about international shipping with tracking. They said the only way to get tracking for international is to send it that Global Express which start at $49.95. That's ridiculous. Are they correct? Or is there another way to get tracking cheaper? Thanks for any help.

USA to international: standard first class international has a customs reciept number. It is trackable usually until it leaves our country. Occasioanlly someone in another country scans the barcode as well and it updates, but that doesnt happen much.

I do not pay for the high priced tracking for international packages.... i figure if its a really high price item i might pay insurance on it, but I do not pay for the tracking. I have yet to loose a package.

If you want tracking/delivery confirmation (that's good for PayPal), then yes, EMS is the way to go. You *might* be able to get tracking (within the other country) with priority mail shipping, but unlikely.

So do it this way?

yeah... basically. pack it like normal. Fill out the Customs form (#22?) and send it standard first class international. it tracks in the USA but once it leaves the USA no way to track.

Cool. Thanks. That's exactly what I did today. So fingers crossed it gets there safely.
