I'm just curious as to what a PODM is worth, or does it vary depending on the film? If you could get access to UK LE500 pins, how many would you say is reasonable to trade for a PODM? I haven't done a trade request, but might be doing so in the next week or two and don't want to misjudge it horribly! :eek2:

I'm thinking in particular of Little Mermaid or 101 Dalmations. Thanks guys.
 
It does depend on the movie also. Tangled is one that goes for quite a bit more. And so does Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for scenes with Snow White in them. Not sure about TLM, but they do go for a good amount depending on the scene.
 
Yup, I echo what King says. All about the scene. For TLM, who is it? And which UK LE500 pins? Because some are worth more than others.

None in particular at the moment, just what I can get on the UK store website. I'm getting Pin 91338: DLP - Brave - Merida and Cubs - Celtic Braid in a couple of weeks which I thought might come in useful!

That might be useful. It is a good trader, although, oddly enough, it recently sold for only $15 on the bay. But it would be a good trader here in the US.

Eh, even in the US it's not that great of a trader. It is good for trading for other UK LE500 pins but it's not all that popular from what I can tell.

I traded a LE500 pin for my PODM. I've noticed a lot of people only trade PODM for other PODM pins. It really depends on the trader.
 

Really? I thought it might still be a good trader; ah well. I traded a LE250 for a PODM once.
 
and that is what makes it soooo difficult to get started these darn things. Seems like PODM for PODM is pretty much the norm.
 
Thanks everyone. That's a useful starting point for me. I realise everyone puts their own value on pins. It makes it very difficult for us beginners!
 
as stated a bit ago... its about the Frame presented in the pin. However, some sell for or trade better simpley because of the movie. For instance regardless of film frame, the Bambi PODM's sell for about 100, and trade extremely well. Most of the "first year" PODM's do well regardless of film frame. 101 dalmations is a first year podm. So if you find one with actual Dalmations in it, its a valuable pin.

With Little Mermaid it seems that most of the frames available are about the same. Although I know that the one with Scuttle, Flounder, Ariel, and the Dinglehopper is highly sought after.
 
I haven't seen the Scuttle, Flounder, and Ariel with the Dinglehopper show up on ebay a lot. The Part of Your World scenes are some of the more common scenes I see. In my experience, they also tend to be the cheapest scene if you plan on buying them and not trading for them.
 
Thank you. I might have a look on ebay. I tend to buy UK store ones to trade with. Bank manager is not very happy with me :eek2:
 
I have traded several podm's overseas and I usually get 3 or 4 open edition pins for them or 2 LE 500 pins. Depends a lot on the scene and what the pins coming back are. I try for the newest princess pins coming back my way. Hope this helps.
