Hey everyone! So I will be attending the PODM release on Thursday, and I am very excited! This will be my first PODM release (actually, by first pin release ever), so I was just wanting to know what to expect. I see that people are going to be lining up very early over at DLR, however I have heard that WDW is not as crowded/competitive.

What time should I get there to ensure a good spot in line?

Where do people line up?

Will they be doing wrist bands at WDW?

Any tips for a newbie? haha

Thanks!

from one newbie to another it is going to be absolut MAYHEM. I have been told that you are not allowed to park or step foot on Downtown Disney Property until 5am. I don't know if this is true or not because I have never been to a release myself. Pin traders opens at 9:30. I STILL haven't decided it I am going to even try it or not. I live about 3 hours away and have 2 kids...my husband works so I will be on my own if I go. Good luck!

This pin release has me so stressed out.... I have gone to tons including Tangled and I am so worried about this one maybe because it is my holly Grail POTM pin

The problem is one it is A holiday alot of peoples passes are blacked out, The park is PACKED my sister in law is there today and said you cant even move I have friends who work there and they say it is a ZOO. DTD will not let you into the parking lot untill 5am. Contempary will not let you in parking lot they are full tonight and will only let guest into hotel.

i salute all you brave solders. this is one hell of a realise! good luck and may your cels be beautiful. we've got our fingers crossed for you all

IF anyone is planning on going with extra people in their party and is not maxing out their purchase, let me know! I can get you pins from DLR, ,trade you pins from my list (wyllieam on pinpics), make you lanyards, babysit your kids...ha! just kidding....but seriously, I am looking for a couple, so hit me up if I can do anything for you! Good luck to everyone going! Have fun and no pushing! :)

It does take time for the parks to fill up though. My Dad was at the MK on Monday, and said it was really busy. But he also said he played Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and didn't run into anyone else playing, which was a first (he's only played 3 times but only this last month which isn't a packed period). Not everyone is going to be running to the pin shops, they'll be too busy snagging Fastpasses and trying to ride the big rides first. I don't think the parks will be that much different than previous releases. BatB will bring more people, but many "$$ hunters" will have to go to Downtown Disney because of the blackouts. And some people usually there may not be able to because of family obligations, so it will help balance it out. It would be worse if the pin sales weren't until 1PM or something, but at opening should still be manageable. Downtown Disney will be chaos though.

The contemporary is on a " hard close" according to security. So, if you don't have hotel reservations.... You are screwed. I have been on the phone a bunch to try to figure out how to go about this madness.... If at all.

I bet this release will be at worst like Tangled. Most of the crowd is not going to be there for the pin. I also agree that there will be those that put family before the pin and don't make the release. On the other hand there will be those that get there super early (like the ones camping out at DLR) to get their pin and get out of there quickly so they can get home to their families and the Holiday at hand. I chose my parents 1 because they are elderly and 2 because none of my 3 siblings chose to spend the day with them this year and I didn't want them to spend the "family" holiday alone. I don't have a lot of years left with them and I want to make them count.

I wish all of you the best of luck getting the exact scenes you want. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that my pre-trade pulls through for me. If not it will be the secondary market or an auction for me. GOOD LUCK!

I just talked to my cast member friend and she told me the best place to go is DTD due to they seperate they cells into scences and you then get to look at four and look at them I guess I will be heading to DTD after all to get the better choice. Epcot is the worse they just hand you two cells and ring you up.

WOW,

I just read everyone's posts. Phew....

Godspeed to those who are brave enough to venture down there, whether you are traveling to DLR or WDW. May the odds be ever in your favor lol.
