Okay, I have to ask... The R/C girls Giselle pin is in my grails. I've observed that it's on Ebay presently but it's about to hit $200.00 most likely. I've spoke to a couple of people who have said they bought it for $40-$60 and believe that I've seen it sell for the same price on Ebay in the past. I know that these pins are normally pretty pricy as they are highly sought after. I also know that the Belle and Ariel pins in this set typically go for sky high value ($200.00 - $300.00) on Ebay but so far I've never witnessed the Giselle pin going this high :eek2:
My question is: has anyone else? I'll be honest, I've spent about $150.00 on certain pins before (only 2 others) and while I REALLY don't want to, I could probably go for this Giselle pin as I don't have anything to trade for it and I REALLY want it but...it seems to me that if I wait, I can probably get it at a cheaper price. What do you guys think?

Also, respectfully, I understand that some people wouldn't spend that money on pins but I have the money since I've recently paid off the last of my debt Also, I believe pins have different value to different people. In short, if you think I'm absurd or crazy, that's okay but posts like that don't help me at the moment so I politely ask that you refrain and thank you

Personally, I would wait for the price to drop. $140-$160 is a big difference. But then it's not something I collect and I don't have the money so I don't personally value it as much as you do. But for example I collect Stitch pins, so if it was a Stitch grail of mine in this situation, I would wait. I just wouldn't want to regret spending so much and then have it sell for so much less later on. But if you really want it enough and you feel comfortable spending the $, go for it. Good luck

I honestly think if it's your grail, go for it. I've spent $300 on a single pin before. The pins in the set are REALLY beautiful. I have the Pocahontas and I loooove it. If you want it, go for it

If it has a history of selling for MUCH LESS then I would defiantly not buy it and wait. Even if it was a grail, you'll sorely regret it later if you see it for 40 or 60 and that will tarnish the feeling of even owning the grail.

I would buy it this set is Beautiful that has been done so far. I did pay abit for Belle but don't feel bad for doing so,

Thank you guys! I mean it, the opinions help. I think that for now, that I will hold off. Two reasons: As others here said, it seems to typically go for much less and I would probably go "Aw man!" if it shows up on the bay in two months and goes for $40.00. Second reason being, if someone wants it enough to pay $200.00 well...they must REALLY, REALLY want it. Maybe it's the last pin to finish THEIR Reveal Conceal collection. Bottom line is, I can be patient. I've been very blessed and lucky in that I have the others (aside from Tiana, Belle and the all holy Rapunzel chaser - who I'm not even trying for). Also, I know that I will have to shell out a pretty penny for the Belle pin so if there's a chance that I can get Giselle cheaper, I should probably take that. Thank you guys again, you all were a big help and anyone else feel free to put their input in too

Unfortunately there is no right answer. If you're comfortable about paying that much for a grail than do so, however the price of any pin at anytime can either increase or decrease in value. The Reveal/Conceal series is really popular and as more pin collectors join the community there will only be more people wanting the set, however that is not to say that it won't come back down in price, but this new price might now be what people are willing to pay for it. It might, as well as the whole series, grow in value. While you might kick yourself for paying that much and finding it for less 6 mos. from now you might also be kicking yourself for not getting it when in 6 mos. it sells for twice that much. There really is no right answer, except to say that whatever the price, if it's right for you than it doesn't matter how little or how much you spend as long as you're happy with your decision to get the pin.

I agree with some of the other posters. The R/C Giselle is one of my most wanteds also and I have no idea what's going on with the price it went for on ebay. When it's come up in the past, it's sold for way, way less. From what I've observed over the last several months, it was actually one of the lower priced pins from the set, though it's price was still too high for me at the time which is why I don't have it yet. But this price is just crazy! I don't know if we can account for this crazy price because of all of the new traders that have come on the scene as of late or if a few people just got it into their heads at the same time that they wanted this pin right now and went for a bidding war. But when the Jasmine pin is up for somewhere in the $90 range and doesn't sell and a Giselle goes for more than twice that amount, something fishy is in the air, I think. Either that, or a ton more Giselle collectors have come out of the woodwork. No idea but that auction was insane. It really makes me wonder what will happen with the next one that turns up. Either way, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I won't be getting an R/C.

I believe that someone just REALLY wanted it, so I'll go with "Bid War". Unfortunately, RubySlipper makes a good point too. As time rolls on, it stands to reason that this set will only go up in price. I've witnessed the Megara R/C pin rise from around $60.00-$70.00 to $120.00
That being said, don't give up
I recently had a lady sell my the Ariel R/C pin for about $150.00 which is pretty good when you consider that it normally hits $200.00 or above. You never know when you might get that one seller who will cut you a break, especially if it's the other girls in the series (aside from Belle and Ariel who are the normal high sellers). Agreed though, that auction was insane but I'm sure the person who got it happy
I'll just be patient and hope that my day will come
