I finally received the final pin on my wants list about 30 minutes ago and I was all excited and happy until I noticed a mark.. then I went into proper light and saw it was in fact a scratch and I felt my heart sink a little as I have been after this one for so long and out off buying it for at least a year now I wish I had not..

The seller's description was just pinpics info in the listing and the picture was the picture from pinpics so I had no way to know it had a scratch. I am one of those people who does not usually mind these things but then I don't have many pins I have paid $120..

I have sent the seller a message and included a picture of the pin, so it has kind of dampened by spirit of getting my wants list to zero

the picture of the pin is below so what are your thoughts on this?? I paid $120 for the pin and I asked for a partial refund, I don't know how much to ask for or should I open a case about it being damaged (never done one of those case's before)

So overall, I am happy to have all the pins I wanted and have a wants list of Zero :eek2: but at the same time feel gutted about the above pin.

Ugh, so sorry you had this happen. It's frustrating, I know. This happened to me once, too. I won a pin off the bay and the description didn't mention any damage and the photo was just a stock photo. When it came, there was a pretty noticeable scratch so I emailed the seller and told them of the problem. The seller wrote back pretty quickly and said she would either take back the pin for a refund or do a partial refund. I ended up getting the pin for half off of what I paid and I was pretty happy with that since it was a pin that was a little difficult to get in the first place. So it's really up to you. Since you said this is a hard to find pin that you've been looking for for some time, a partial refund might be a better option for you but if you'll always be unhappy with the condition maybe just send it back and keep looking. But see what you think about it and then what the seller says. You may not have to open a case unless the seller refuses to work with you entirely. See what happens, good luck!!

Like I said I will still want to keep it but I would not have paid the price I did for it if the seller had told me as the seller sold me two previous pins in the same series and they were fine and perfect so had the chance to tell me prior to selling me the pin as I said I wanted the pin above.

I am asking for a partial refund as since the pin sold the other one listed on ebay jumped from $120 (same price as mine) to $165 so I can't be dropping more $$ lolol

just kinda sucks that the last pin had an imperfection as normally I am ok with stuff if its in a trade or gift but not over $100.

Eek. That's a small scratch but a really deep one I would definitely ask for a refund, that's a LOT to pay for a damaged pin As for how much to ask for back, ask yourself how much you could pay knowing full well that it had a scratch.

I have asked for a partial refund as I do want to keep the pin as its an LE100 Japan pin. going to give seller 48 hours to reply and to see what they say before I open a case or anything further

not so good, hope u get something sorted out danny! I hate it when sellers use stock photos as theres always that niggling doubt as to the pins condition, therefore I always ask the seller for an actual photo of the pin, and If I get no reply, I dont bid. I really hope u get this sorted, its a very deep scratch, more of an indentation, and is clearly noticable so the seller couldnt have missed it by accident! Hopefully you'll get your partial refund, wishing you lots of good pin karma!!

It should have been stated in the listing, BUT, the cool thing is that you have a really cool pin! A wants list of 0 is amazing. I actually hope you find some new pins you want so you have something to hunt for! Or some new pins get made that fit your collection! Congrats on the new addition!

I know it's quicker and easier, but I'm not a big fan of sellers using stock photos for items. If the item is in totally perfect condition, then fine--it's not a big deal. If there is anything slightly out of the ordinary with the item (pin, Vinylmation, doll, whatever), they should definitely post actual photos. They should also be honest in the description as to whether there are any scratches or dings.

I hope you are able to get at least some money refunded for this. It's BS to sell something to someone with a price based on the premise that the pin is in perfect condition. I just had this happen to me about a month ago, where a seller sold me a double backer pin with one of the posts snapped off. Stock picture in description, no mention of the condition, so I assumed there would be nothing wrong with it. He refused to refund any money, so I sent him the pin back and got a full refund.
