Removing a scratch from a PODM

I was offering a trade for my Tangled PODM. I feel really bad because we had agreed on the trade, but when I went to take it out of my collection and on its card, I couldn't find the card AND I found an ugly scratch on the plastic covering the film!

Its deep in the sense that I can feel it and I can get my nail caught on the scratch, but the film itself is not damaged. One of my friend suggested putting a sealant on it, like a resin? I was hoping someone else had been through this and found a good solution...?

I don't know if that is fixable. Anything you do will likely make it worse (denting the plastic, creating a puddle effect where you put the fix). Perhaps just ask the person if these things bother them in regards to the trade? Eve ultra fine abrasives to buff it out will likely damage the thin plastic. Maybe buy a cheaper PODM from a series that isn;t popular and put a small scratch in it and try to fix that one so you don;t risk your Tangled one? You could also try taking into a glasses eye shop. True they work on glass instead of plastic usually, but they may be able to take a look under a magnifying glass and give you an opinion on the scratch. They may even have the tools/fine abrasives and fillers to take care of it for you if it's possible.

Unfortunately, pins not kept sealed up in a box somewhere are likely always going to get scratches/some sort of wear. I however think the point is to show them off and share them so I don't not wear mine/put them in my pin book in just to prevent scratching.

I would not mess with it at first, and let them know/see the damage and ask if they are still interested.

If they are no longer interested, and it bothers you enough, only then I would try to fix it, though only if it doesn't hold some significant meaning to you where further damaging it would depress you too much.
