This might not be the right place to ask (and I'm sorry if this has already been answered, too), but what are our estimates on the editions of these pins? Obviously all the reveal pins and the conceal pins will be around the same edition, and I read somewhere (I don't think it was on DPF) that pin traders estimate around 50-80 Rapunzel chasers exist... what does everyone else think?
One guy in line said he found a box that had 2 conceal pouches (no reveal pin) and they were both Rapunzels! He sold both right around the time the pins came out for ~$100 each
1000 boxes: 100 reveal sets, 95 conceal sets and 50 Rapunzels.
I have no interest in the reveal/conceal pins unless they involve Sleeping Beauty somehow, but I've been watching the bidding on the Rapunzel pins since the madness was first posted about on here. I just noticed that the second pin auction ended a short time ago, and the winning bid was even higher than the first one. Also, I went to look at the bidders list. Even though there's no names or IDs shown, of course, the winning bidder for both pins looks to be the same person. Both auctions show y***y (201) at the top! Seems crazy to me that anyone would spend that amount of money on one pin, but for one person to spend that kind of money on two of the same pins? Oh boy!!
Don't ruin my dreams
Besides the 100 mickeys pins, some boxes of them were found sometime after the release and they were pit onto cast lanyards instead of sold so really you never know. I prefer to have my hopes of obtaining the three I need including rapunzel, even if that hope is a false one.
There's no reason to stop thinking you can't still get these pins even if there are no missing boxes, there are still plenty out there. When they first came out they were all over ebay and I'm sure being that they were sold as a set I'm sure a lot of casual and even non-pin trading people bought them just for a fun day of trading with CMs. Getting these pins may take patience, which I realize is not a word commonly associated with pin trading, but good things come to those who wait.
