Vinylmation traders Unite!!

We need to stop the Cherry picking of the cases at Disney Store and especially D Street!! It is unethical and unfair! Next time you see something like this happening you NEED to report it to Disney Guest relations! They will give you a number to call...CALL!!!

They are ruining our Hobby!

Do NOT trade or buy from people you see and know are doing this. We must take a stand!

Hey There,

I thought you cant see what is inside as they are sealed in the special foil?
Are they opening them and then putting them back?
I know you know your stuff Wendy but how do they cherry pick?
Just so I know what to look for.

What I noticed is that new boxes have a specific place where each vinyl is , I saw this at d street on Sunday with urban 7 the cast member didn't care and gave them the exact one they wanted from a brand new box, When the Vinyl traders are friends with the cast members there really is nothing you can do about it they can do whatever they want.

This is exactly what I am talking about. As of right now several of us witnessed this incident on Sat and Sunday with the New Urban 7. The Good news is Disney DOES care. We have talked to several people in upper management and there is now an on going investigation in the D street and this and several other incidents. The key is that we have to tell people about it, if we just sit back and take it up the whoha, then you are right they can do whatever they want. If we do something about it...it will get better.

If you have witness any of these things happening and care enough to do something about it...pm me and I will give you the Disney Customer Concerns phone number to call them.

Unfortunatly a brand new sealled case for the most part(except for a few series) always load the cases in the same order, so once you know where the chaser or variants are located, they will always be in that same place. And yes, at the Disney store people go in and cut them open to see what they are and then only take the ones they want.

hey wendy... i think your right that they care... i was in the park late and talked to a leed about it. The case is supost to have the little boxes moved around in it b for coming to the floor. I saw a guy buy a whole case...and not get what he wanted...funny part was the girl behind him only got one box and it was what he needed. he than made a 2 for 1 trade and let her pick any 2 she wanted from the case he just bought. So the point is... they are supost to mix them up... tell the leed if they dont. when the old boxes had codes on the bottom they fixed that also. if we as the traders tell disney what we see...they will work on a fix. ppl may even have to part ways with disney.

I totally agree people like this need to be reported. I make it a point not to trade or buy from these people whom I suspect are doing it too. It's pretty easy not to buy from them though as they usually have high prices anyway

If I'm ever at the parks and witness this, I will definitely say something. But to those of you who see it and don't just let it slip, good for you and thanks so much for doing your part in putting an end to these people ruining the fun of the chase! :D

This is one reason I am not into vinylmations that much. I know some people like the mystery and that makes it fun, but for me I don't like not knowing what I am buying. I also feel Disney is making a killing off people who have to buy and buy to get what they want. Also not everyone knows about trading them. My personal opinion is make every vinyl visible before purchase, produce equal numbers of each vinyl and then all these problems would stop. Of course then values wouldn't go up. i understand most disagree with me and that is fine. Me personally I am more likely to purchase something that I can see than gamble on something I can't, especially in the current economy.

There are a lot of series that are open window boxes, so you know what you are buying before hand :)

I didn't like the "blind boxing" aspect at first, but I grew to really enjoy it. It's not the value going up that draws me in, but the fun of the chase. Even if you don't win all the time, when you win, it's awesome :D

I hate Vinylmation for this reason. It is unfair for those who like the mystery of not knowing what they are getting. I just trade for the vinylmation pins that I like or ones that might get something nicer.

Understandable and I agree...to each his own. just personally I can't afford the hunt.

I dont collect vinyls but if I did I would like the thrill of the hunt as I used to collect Heroclix (dont know if people know what that is) and each booster would be sealed so you would never know what you were getting, I dont know how much I spent on them to see if I got lucky and got say a super-rare etc but its the same in alot of hobbies like Yu-gi-oh cards, warcraft cards, heroclix etc

its fun but very costly and glad I dont want any vinyls except the irish themed ones lol

Thats a drag. Now I completly understand. It makes me wonder how they find this out? Thanks for the clarification.
