So about those PTDs...

I love the variety of characters. If it's a character I don't want or need, I just pass on it. The fact that they are constantly changing is fun and they are surprises. (They don't need to change as much as over the weekend though!!) The quality of the pins varies widely IMHO, some are great and some are pretty ugly. Also the size changes. I like small pins anyway, but some of the recent ones have been pretty big and they are nice too. It's great to be able to add to somewhat stagnant collections. Great Mouse Detective is a favorite, but there are very few pins. The Olivia ptd is great, especially after being so disappointed with the beloved tales for the film where the characters just don't look right.

I think they are the most ridiculous craze/fad I have ever seen in 20+ years of collecting. They're small, the artwork is nothing special, and frankly - how many of these characters would actually eat ice cream? It's just dumb. It's killing the DSF cast members and it's brought out the most greedy and unbecoming behavior of opportunistic jerks everywhere. I wish they'd be gone forever but since they're not, all I can say is I have no interest in acquiring any of them.

I did get the Esmeralda for one reason only; there's so few pins of her and since I have so few Hunchback in general I thought it would be a nice addition to that collection.

I've been collecting them from thge beginning but have missed a couple along the way (yes the 2 hardest ones now Masterpiece Mickey and Pip). But my husband and I would go to DSF to sit down, have ice cream and talk. It was relaxing and enjoyable every couple weeks or so.

In all honesty, I'm not a massive fan of all the PTDs. However I love the idea of having all the PTDs for a specific movie. Right now, I would love to get the BATB PTDs [I have Gaston and Mrs. Potts is on her way to me] and then maybe start work on the Sleeping Beauty PTDs then Snow White & Cinderella. I really only like the ones that will actually fit into my collections.

I do not care for PTDs overall. I just don't care for movie characters eating ice cream. I prefer movie characters in their "natural" form. I can handle the "fab seven" eating ice cream but not princesses, etc.

Does anyone know why there are some PTDs that don't feature ice cream or anything that relates to DSF? For example, there are a few stars that say DSF and then Pip and King Louie don't seem to have any ice cream at all. Do you think these were originally intended to be used as PTD or did they have a different plan that didn't work out? Do you think DSF would release non-ice cream pins now or are they set on ice cream?

I don't see what's wrong with the characters eating ice cream for the ptd. The way you are suppose to receive a ptd is by buying an ice cream and it's funny that people are saying they hate characters holding ice cream for these pins but when the posters were being released no one had a problem with rapunzel, mad hatter, dumbo, and bongo bear holding ice cream for a so called " circus poster". At least on the PTDs it makes sense.

I'm a PTD completist (thanks to a few friends last few weeks!) and I love them because they uses to be the no fuss DSF LE pin. But that's all changed now. They used to be the one guaranteed thing at DSF no matter the day or trip. I also love their ice cream!! Mint chip, cookies and cream, pumpkin, and rainbow sherbet. The best!!! But now it's gotten a little crazy. I'll still keep the collection going, but I really hope the LE sizes jump huge!! So it's not a mad rush and pins change multiple times a day. I want it nice and relaxed again, like eating an ice cream!

I personally can't stand them except to have the characters I like and NO way I would pay the prices being asked. The main two reasons I don't like them are
1. The size
2.The stress they are causing some of my fellow pin traders
I do have Hook and wouldn't mind having Goofy, but it's for the character not the pin.

having said that I would love the icecream.... lol.

what they said!
