I don't have much success trading, I do a few here and there, mostly I depend on ebay for pins now that I live so far away from D-Land, but today I got the most AMAZING package from someone who has become a real friend. And I am not someone who throws that word around. There are 2 people on this forum that I would call friends, and just a couple of people in real life, outside of my family, that have proven to me that no matter how tough my life gets they are ride or die. Anyway, back to the pins...this is the contents of the fantastic package I got from Echo today, a real friend.

These are the pins we traded for, including 2 grails, the Doorknob set and Pip. The H is to help me spell my nephew's name.

These 2 she bought on my behalf at DSF, since I now live 800+ miles away.

Some extra goodies, the pictures are signed photos of the Xena cast. Loved that show! And inside the Cheshire Cat wallet is some silver jewelry I can melt down so I can cast my own jewelry. I collect fairies (aside from pins) and this fairy is an eraser. Along with a Mad Hatter pillbox.

Finally, to thank me for the gifts that I made for her, she also, despite claiming she isn't crafty, made me this Wonderland inspired denim pocket. Pretty cool, huh? When I get settled again and have my own place, I will hang it alongside my other Alice paintings.

I really want to thank EchoHarmony for being my friend, this package was to thoughtful and she's been amazing by helping me get some of my grails, by trading on my behalf, and buying me pins that I would miss out on otherwise. She is super awesome and I'll have to make her something really fantastic to thank her for everything.

She has traded for a few more grails on my behalf that she's holding onto until I can find something to trade in exchange, so if you could take a look at her signature, then look at my traders to see if there is something we can work out, I'd really appreciate it. She has another Doorknob with my name on it, that I'm just dying to get my hands on. :naughty: Right now she's really wanting that Robin Hood Just Married pin.

All I can say is - WOW!

Lucky you. How sweet of Echo. I think if I got a box in the mail with that many goodies, I'd have a heart attack and die of happiness.

P.S. I love that pill box.

Congratulations on the amazing package and pins, it is wonderful that you have made an amazing friend on DPF.

That haul is so awesome, I can hardly stand it! You got all that super cute stuff AND two of my grails all in one day!! The doorknobs and the white rose are spectacular!! Big, giant, enormous congrats to you!! Wow, that Echo is one awesome girl :)

What a wonderful box of goodies! I can see why it brought a big smile to your day. Congrats on having found a great friend- that's one of the coolest things about this hobby. I found my bestest friends through pins :0)

I adore you, you deserve all this and more. I still think the pocket looks like a 3rd grader's art project but I worked hard and long on it,and am glad you like it :) I have three more of your grails here just waiting for trades! I'm so glad we're friends and I look forward to a long, wonderful friendship :) yay for pin trading bringing people together!! ♥

Well I think you're pretty great too! That's why I made you that Merida necklace. That thread you created months ago, about your situation resonated with me because it was like you were talking about me, yes our maladies are slightly different, your hip, my back, but I know what it's like to think that life and everyone around you has given up on you, so I decided then that I wanted to do something special for you, and while it might have taken me awhile, I made that necklace knowing that Merida was someone that you related to and I knew that I couldn't get you the DSF Brave pins, so I did what I could. Thank you so much for being so awesome! There are a lot of people in general and in the pin trading community specifically who are very opportunistic, so it's nice to find someone who helps others just because and not for their own benefit, so thanks for being you. And if you can stand it, I'll just keep making you more stuff, until you have an entire collection of Tammy Lea originals. ;)

Awww. You're too right, tammy. While there are some truly kind people, there are also a lot of opportunistic people in this hobby who will take advantage of anyone who will let them!! I'm so incredibly glad we found each other and can help each other with things!!

For anyone who's interested, the package I sent Tammy was in response to this package she sent me:

I still can't imagine how much time it must have taken for her to handmake me that Merida necklace, which I wear all the time by the way!! And she made me the Brave magnets, the Mulan birthday card which is going to be the centerpiece of my Mulan pin board, and even made cute backer cards to the pins she sent me :D It's so nice to connect with someone who is going through a similar health situation and understands what I'm going through.

Not just jewelry. I'm kind of a master crafter, give me a pile of just about anything, bit and baubles, junk drawer findings, or even garbage and I'll turn it into something. Hell I'm even using scrapper pins to make headbands right now and then I'm going to make Designer Villain/Princess scarves. I figure since I can't afford the ones that Disney is selling I'll make my own.

Also the Mulan cut-outs on the card are magnets as well. They're just attached with a tiny bit of glue, holding them in place. If you want to use them in the card and also as magnets you can just color copy them, cut out the copies and then glue them in place, an extra coat on top will protect them from damage, then you can actually use the magnets that took me forever to cut out. :)

Yes. See, you need to go to like, thrift stores and buy bits and bobs and open up your own store selling your one of a kind creations. :D Oh, I bought a bag full of metal fastener thingies for you to use on stuff! I'll send them with your next package. A goodwill opened up really close to me a few days ago. Need to go again, they had some neat stuffs :)

Oh, I have PLENTY of bits and bobs, I even pick stuff up off of the ground if I think I can use it. I'm like a squirrel, anything that's shiny catches my eye. My problem is that my depression gets in the way. The ideas are always flowing, which is why I have such horrible insomnia, but when the melancholia takes over, nothing gets accomplished. I need to be on some serious meds, but when you don't have insurance, well, life just gets tougher.
