Speaking of scrappers. . .
Hi everyone. . . warning, this is a shameless plug, warning!
With all the attention to scrappers lately due to the arrests and everything, I've noticed some people stating they throw their scrappers in the trash upon finding out what they are. For those individuals and for any others, I'd like to invite you to try a different solution.
Donate your unwanted scrapper/counterfeit pins as game prizes for an Autism Awareness walk (similar to Relay for Life events). All of the games are free for the children, and being a teacher, I can attest to how much their eyes light up when they see their favorite character on a shiny piece of metal! I’ve used scrapper pins (with a black X on the back) in my good behavior/good work treasure box before, and they always delight.
If interested, please PM me for further details. Please note, there will not be any monetary compensation for your donation (aka I am NOT buying your scrappers from you), but rather a good feeling knowing your pin made a child smile.
Those who have been on the boards for a little bit may remember me asking previously for good will donations of scrapper/counterfeit pins. For this year's event, I collected over 300+ pins from the DPF community to use as game prizes. Due to the event's success, it will now be an annual event so I am collecting again for next year's event. We had many children play the games multiple times JUST to get a prize so they could get a pin for mom, dad, sissy, brother, gma, etc.
Please keep this event and myself in mind when going through your collections and finding the blasted fakes. If you no longer wish to keep them, please do not throw them in the trash, but rather - PM me and contribute to a great cause!
Thanks ya'll, and I'll get down off my soapbox now!
