Hey! I'm KyloRenTrader, probably the newest member of the forum. I'm curious about a few things today and thought to come here for help.

1) I am currently looking to start up a pin collection. I have a small one of 3 pins so far, but i'm looking to expand that. Sadly, I currently do not have the capacity to purchase these pins and are really just trying to get a feel of the market. If anybody has 100% authentic pins that i can possibly buy at a later date, please let me know.

2) I'm attempting to figure out how to find authenticity onvthe internet. If anybody has.any help with authenticity of pins, please inform me.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi, and welcome!

1 - It might help if you let us know more about what you collect or are looking to collect. Do you focus on specific movies, characters, theme parks, or pin types (like dangle pins, piece of history pins, or pin trader delight sundae pins)? By your username I assume you are collecting Star Wars. Do you have any other collections in mind? There are lots of people here that sell pins, or have the means to obtain pins for people (there are currently people doing at-cost pickups at Disneyland, Disney World, Disneyland Paris, and the Disney Studio Store in Hollywood). So some focus on what you are looking for would help.

2 - You can purchase some pins directly from Disney online (disneystore.com and the disney parks ap both have some pins available). There are also people here on the forum that pick up pins for other users at Disney parks and stores and sell them. Every user on here has a feedback score, and you can read all the feedback given for a user by other users on here. If a user has a high positive feedback store, it's very likely that their pins are authentic.

There are some things that are telltale signs of NON-authentic pins - those lots on ebay that sell 10/50/100 pins for 30 cents a pin - those are definitely all scrapped or faked pins. Also, if the same seller has multiple of the same low edition pin at a lower price than the same pin from other users, chances are that their pins are fakes or scrappers from the factory.
