I have become friends with him. We were chatting last night and I was giving him my view on resellers. I asked him what his thoughts were on this. His rely that he is very sad that resellers such as DSF, WDI, POMP's etc. He said that pin trading began as a fun hobby. To collect and trade. Actually it is against Disney policy to sell pins. I mentioned the upcoming Beloved pins and the high reselling prices. He was aware of eBay, but was even more disheartened to hear it happens on pin forums. He is going to contact DSF, WDI and parks, etc.

Debi I love you to pieces... but posting this I feel just opened up a can of worms...I would suggest closing this asap

Disney cannot control what pin traders/sellers do. While they can technically control what their cast members do (and that is really up in the air, many cast members buy and sell pins), they cannot control what the rest of the pin traders do. While it is disheartening that pins that aren't released are preselling for over $100, one cannot be surprised. People are going to be camping out for those pins. Some of them will be hard to come by so high prices are expected.

hmmmm Unfortunately, Disney cannot control reselling. Once a product is purchased what the new owners do with it is their choice. If disney tried to stop resellers it would be a huge legal mess. They can keep their employee's from reselling at mark up prices. Its part of their contract of employment with disney and they can be fired for it. Call me ignorant, but IDK who This "Steve Miller" is. And if he is some sort of high rank Disney guy, he will know what i just said, is true.

Reselling is a part of any collectors hobby: Comic books, statues/resin/artist models, paintings, stamps, baseball cards, etc....

I am with lizbelle, this thread is likely to go boom. Whats a POMP????
