That feeling when... (Mini rant) >.<

You should edit your post to remove the quote of his eBay link too..

I actually just saw those today looking for your pin when you made this thread, and just started cracking up... Look at that seller's other pins, he's got a lot of, um, interesting pins...

There's even a Tinkerbell one after some 'enhancements'... Yeah, those are just wrong...

lol I realized that after I quoted it so I removed it ^_^ Aquata should do the same ;D

And yeah, I've seen a slew of them considering I've searched for that cat pin everyday for nearly 3 months so I've seen a lot of them come and go and I'm always just like :io:

Edited mine too but I took a look at what you were talking about and I cracked up too. Especially at the nurse one where her eye appears to be........ melting?!

Shill bidding is when someone bids up their own auction.

I really hope that wasn't what was happening That would be wrong and stupid on their part >_< Either way, what's over is over ^_^ I'll keep looking and if anyone hears anything about this pin...please let me know haha

Now I'm interested in the other pins that person was selling (the unauthorized ones) since rik and Aquata seemed to enjoy them so much lol

brb gonna go see what is so funny about them

This is what happened to me lol ::embarrassed:: and I had to know if they were real...they look so bizarre and are totally wrong! They could have tried to make them look a little tasteful, I only imagine some really rough-around-the-edges biker-chick wearing those on a studded leather jacket when I see these haha!

hahahahaha okay, I just saw them and I have to admit, the "Curves Ahead" one got me laughing pretty bad lol The whole idea of them is just funny in general, and the fact that they have multiple bids makes me laugh more because that means people actually want them To each his own I guess, I'd prefer staying on this site, where it is authorized pins only xD

Hey Kupo, sorry to hear about it, if I would have known I would have helped. At least I can shed some light on the situation for you.

The person that had your pin for sale was selling his ENTIRE Jessica collection all at once. My eBay alerts went off the charts! He sold the jumbos of Peter Pan, Mrs. Incredible, Hercules, Esmerelda, Jasmine, The Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Ursula, Blue Fairy, King and I, Meet Me in St. Louis, French Maid (#drool), all the Jessica Devil pins, all the WDIs, all the Jessica DSF decades, box sets, about a dozen other really cool Jessica Shopping pins, and, yes, your catwoman pin.

This caused a frenzy because buyers were damn near guaranteed that they were all real; this wasn't some noob selling off 10 Jessica as Ursulas at once, it was a legitimate collection. Because of this, people went nuts. I saw them within 2 hours of the collection going up for sale, and I started bidding, casual at first, then it started to get serious. Following the same line of thought as Luis75, even though I was broke, in the ending last few minutes I bid up to 217 on Peter Pan, 140 on Hercules, 120 on the Maid, 172 on catwoman (yes that was me), 120 on Jasmine, and 120 on Hatter thinking I would sell whatever I had to to pay for these pins. I was winning them ever since the auctions went up when they started at $.99. I bid so high because I wanted to be sure I won them and never ever thought they would ever go above the crazy numbers I bid; they usually sell for 1/2 to 2/3 my bids, and indeed I was winning them for about 2/3 to 3/4 my max bids.

The last 24 hours of auction, everything spiked. I had to re-up my smaller bids to try to keep up. I was still winning all of them up to the last 10 seconds of each. Then I got hit with the flood of last second bidders. People went nuts. I got capped out on every single one I bid on except Jasmine, which I won for 84. I personally have never seen these specific pins sell for this much. I don't think they ever will again either because it took someone selling their entire collection for this to happen the way it did.

What happens is either people have ebay alerts that go off and they see that someone is selling everything (I have one that is set to email me whenever someone sells something with the terms Jessica As Pin in the description - I got like 20 emails at once this time) OR they saw that the guy had one Jessica for sale and went and looked at what else he had for sale and went "Oooooooooohhhhhh $^&*!!!!!!!" when they saw his items and the frenzy begins. I was battling the same 3-4 bidders the whole time, guys with a lot more money than me. I can say for certainty that there was no shill bidding, and I think this seller probably made between 2 and 3 grand off his sales.

Just thought I would try to explain the total freaking madness, and I really hope you get your grail someday. I know you will, it is just a matter of patience. Dang, you want it so bad, if had had won it I would have had to find some way to get it to you, even if it was a zap. Someone got me my grail pin that way and I never forgot it. I promise that if on the extremely rare off chance that the winning bidder doesn't pay and I get a Second Chance Offer (I was the second highest bidder) for your pin, I will grab it and all of DPF will make sure it ends up in your hands, somehow.

Good luck and sorry about the mess, eBay is known to me as evilbay for a very good reason!

Oh dear, this is happening to me right now, too... my holiest of holy grails is on the Bay right now, and well... it's well over $1000 over my budget haha... but good things come to those who wait, and I am positive that one day you will find whatever pin you're looking for- chin up and GOOD LUCK! <3

Like Geoff, I also was bidder high in a few. But when I saw they were selling higher then my max, I decided to put it all in 2 pins. Saying that, I only won one, that most likely, a should of passed out( my wife is going to kill me). I think it came down to the person selling all those pins at one time was a person el collection. The crazy thing is, the BIN on most of the pins was lower the the bids they got. I wish I tried to buy it at the beginning. For example, the BIN for cat was 120.00, when someone over bid me.

Now that is disappointing lol. That's why I jumped to by the Rapunzel Chocolate pins yesterday for $65. I'm sure it will keep going up so I just made sure I grabbed it while I can. I can't take chances and wait anymore because it seems like time is against us. It use to be the longer you waiting pin prices would drop, but now they only seem to be getting more pricey. I would also be kicking myself had I not used the BIN feature and than the bids went over that projected price.

Don't forget to post so that others here don't bid it up (that happened a few times when we DPF members were talking amongst ourselves, we found out we were all bidding on the same darn pin!)

Thanks Starry, yeah, I should have posted, it might have helped curb the crazy. I forgotted >.<

Is this what all Lion King collectors do? I have yet to trade for a grail (but I got one in my Secret Santa!! Thank you again you crazy hatter!!)Between Tangled and Lion King I end up selling more than trading but I get my pins so I guess it works. It might work for you Kupo...

Forgive me, but this doesn't make any sense. If two or more people on the boards want a pin that is up for auction and are willing to bid on it, shouldn't it be whoever is willing to bid the highest win? How do you determine which board member gets to be the winning bid?

I'm not mocking or trying to cause trouble, I just genuinely don't understand the statement. Perhaps I'm missing something here.

I have the same issue... Earlier in the summer both of my grails were available on eBay and I just didn't have the money. I haven't seen them posted and I do not know if I'll ever get the chance to buy or trade for them again. It's a major bummer really.

I suspect if it's two people's grail, and they don't actually volunteer to work something out, then that's exactly what happens...

But if it's my grail, for example, and 2 or 3 other people see it thinking 'Hey, that'd be a great trader' or something, then maybe they'd be willing to not bid on it knowing that I'm really after it for my collection...

If you know there's 1 or 2 other members after similar pins, you can also agree that person A gets to try for this pin, person B tries for the next, etc...

It's never a guarantee since there could be 10 other people not on the boards going after it...

Wow Geoff, that's really cool to know you were one of the high bidders, I did see someone who consistently bid on all the Jessica pins, was that you ;D Thank you for offering the help, it seems like all my favorite pins were on Ebay and ended between today and yesterday. The Stitch Invasion with Ariel pin just ended at $60, which is good for that pin, but I can't afford a full $60 for a pin (same problem with the Jessica pin last night) and then the Enchanted Stained Glass pin I'm looking for accepted best offer yesterday. I have been procrastination making an offer on that for a while so this is what I get  Congrats to the 3 people who got those 3 pins between yesterday and today ^_^

But if it's my grail, for example, and 2 or 3 other people see it thinking 'Hey, that'd be a great trader' or something, then maybe they'd be willing to not bid on it knowing that I'm really after it for my collection...

You know, when the pin first came up on Ebay, I was really considering posting an excited thread about it here because I was so happy because it never is on Ebay. However, then I realized how many Jessica collectors exist and I didn't post it because I was nervous it would only up the bids >_< Oh well, next time I know ^_^

I remember someone I talked to recently through PM was willing to sell the Jessica as Cat Burglar pin from their traders I think, albeit at a much higher price than I can afford, but I don't remember who it was  Now that I see how much it went for, I regret not buying it back then seeing as now I bet they'll charge a whole lot more for it (even though it doesn't usually go for that price and I still couldn't afford it)...

shucks kupo! we hope you end up getting that pin in the very near future. We would've been more than happy to pitch in and get your grail as well -_-. Goodluck!

OK, that makes a bit more sense to me. Thanks for explaining.

Thank you catburger ^_^ I figure if I focus all my effort on finding this pin and the last 4 Disneyshopping.com Stained Glass pins I am looking for, I really think I have a chance at getting some of them haha xD
