Simple question, simple answer... compared to the normal value of a pin, how do you value an AP or PP version of a pin? For example, if a pin is worth about 5$, would you double that price for an AP? triple it? Add an extra 25$ to any AP pin?

I know no rule will apply for every pin, I am just curious what people are thinking about AP's and PP's.

the value usually doesn't change...I see an AP/PP as just the same pin and it will vary from trader to trader. Some people collect AP/PP and are willing to pay more personally I think the value remains the same

There are a few people who collect AP and PP pins and because there are so few available might value them higher than the regular release. I personally do not collect them and unless it was a pin I wanted or of one that is in high demand I would have no interest in keeping or trading for it.

For me, for selling/buying purposes, I would probably value an AP at $1-5 more than a regular pin. Same with PP. I sold a PP of an $12 pin for $13 to DLRPintrader92 (on another forum).

Most of the time I value it exactly the same or even less (I mean, c'mon it DAMAGED! ... And you traded a Hidden Mickey pin for it, why should I value it more than that?)

Only AP/PP pins that I might consider more valuable are either DS/DA pins (but rarely even that) and PP pins that were changed or not produced.

Although I do love AP & PP pins & have a # in my collection, if you look at trades/wants ratios on Pin Pics, sometimes
those are "easier" than the ratios for the originals

I am not experienced with this, but I think the PP are more difficult to get, more rare. For a collector and even someone who is not, it does raise the value some. (Some more than others)

As for AP, although they are not as rare usually, they still seem to be more valuable them the regular pin. Not as much as a pp, but still somewhat more.

This is just based upon the experience I have had.

I do not collect them, but I do have a number of them.

Vicki
