I was scrolling through ebay and looked at this 50 pin lot auction because it seemed different then the others so I'm reading it and this paragraph that I'm going to post came right out of his description it's interesting.......


I believe in honesty and full disclosure:
These pins are perfect if you want a cheap way to trade with cast members at the parks. As you can see for yourself in the pictures, they are scrapper quality so they probably aren't ones that you want to keep for yourself but Disney policy requires cast members to accept them in trade. For those not familiar with Disney pins, scrappers are basically factory seconds. They have some sort of flaw that would not pass quality control such as rough edges, small imperfections in the paint, off coloring, ect.
These are the exact same type and quality of pin that anyone selling a "random lot of pins" that are "authentic" but do not specifically say "not scrapper" in their auction.
These are what I use to trade all the time so I know for 100% certain that there is no way they will deny a trade but I think it is important to be completely clear to avoid problems down the road.

Here is what I found:

50 Disney Trading Pins. These are the actual pins shown in the picture. Previously traded in WDW so are fully tradeable again. Most of these are in great shape. Some may shows signs of trading such as small scratches, rough edges or wobbly posts. These are our duplicates from trading so some are likely to be scrappers, there are so many of them out there that they can't be avoided. All have rubber Mickey ear backs and the Disney trading pin stamp on the back of the pin. These are used, so are sold as is. These would make for a great addition to your collection or a lot of fun for trading. Happy bidding and thanks for looking!

The ??? is: is this a good or a bad thing?

good:Because we know were basiclly buying scrappers :/

Bad: They know their scrappers yet they still sell them 2 us and saying go ahead trade these at the park

This is just a way for these sellers to say, "hey, I warned you" and to take the blame off of them because they put this in their description. It doesn't take the blame off of them in any way. They are still KNOWINGLY selling scrappers to people. It's the same with anything counterfeit. "Oh, yeah, these are not the best quality printed fake money, but you can trade it in to the store to get real stuff and real change."

This just makes me even more bad because they are condoling the trading of scrappers with real pins.

Infuriating and dishonest is what it is. It might be "okay" to unload them to the cast members because of Disney policy, but then every person who trades them off the cast members is cheated.
 
Good lord that's bold!

Can't believe someone would say that! It's just their little Jimminy Cricket kicking in telling them they shouldn't be making money out of fakes but they like the money too much to stop doing it so they say this instead. Can this not be reported to disney as someone who is actively encouraging people to trade junk onto their lanyards in exchange for good pins.

The whole scrapper thin sounds like something The Real Hustle should be showing now!
