Those awkward guilty pleasures...
The first time we went to disney and saw all the pins, I started collecting pins for everything we did and then it became collecting everything in the order we did it. then it became putting every pin in order in pin vacation books from start to finish. I started to think i was crazy but now i can go to say.... halloween 2005 pin book and the first pin is the resort we stayed at, then the monorail pin to get to MK, then the magic kingdom pins for where we went. then the frontierland pin followed by all the rides we went on in order. I do that for every park and ride. even for the places we shopped and special parades or whatever was going on.

I now have 10 pin books for my vacations and i can look through them like a photo album and see everything we did on that trip in chronological order ( OCD much)

Yeah, weird id say lol

I think that's very cool!!! I do have one or two pins that are totally random but I have because they remind me of certain trips or events.

I have this one from a trip with the girls :0)

I also had to have this one. We went to see the movie at the IMAX in SF. 15 minutes before the end, there was a fire at the mall and we had to evacuate. (Have you ever been to a movie when sirens start going off? Ha) I was so bummed because I really love the transformation scene and was really looking forward to seeing it on the IMAX screen. Although I always tell people that since I missed the last 15 minutes, I don't know how it ends. LOL and some people believe me.

I'm pretty much a random collector. I get the pins I like no matter what they are and other than Brave, which is the only theme I have worked to complete, I don't worry about what the theme or subject is. Probably running second to Brave is my Si and Am collection, but I'm not planning on being a completist with that one.

I have started working on a couple other themes though that don't seem to be quite as popular as the typical princess/Stitch/Jessica biggies. My favorite one is Edna Mode. I've only got one now, out of the three I know of where it's just her, and it's probably the easiest one of her to get (where she's in the black and grey outfit) but I'm trying desperately to get the other two. One is a halloween pin and the other is a Christmas pin.

I also want to start a Roz collection at some point and I haven't heard too many people talk about collecting her. I just think she's hilarious. Also, I've started a little Tower of Terror pin collection, since that's our favorite ride at WDW. I will not be a completist with that one, but there are more than a few that I like.

We're all over the place on collecting, so I'd have to say the oddest pins are non-Disney and tend to come out of Japan for either Studio Ghibli or anything Anime related that we like.

I think my most obscure collections that I never really count as collections are anything with a Dolphin on (looking "real" I don't like stylised) and aircraft (as I work for an airline) but I'm also a bit weird with what characters are acceptable to accompany those characters I collect on pins. I prefer my characters on their own but it's usually okay if they are with a non-human so I don't like Aladdin with Abu or Pocahontas with Meeko but Carpet or Flit would be okay.

One of my guilty pleasures or akward collection are the pins with characters wearing 3D glasses. I work with an organization that partners with Real D (the company that makes the 3D glasses for movie theathers) for presentations so those pins have a personal attachment to me.

I know DSF has released the characters in seats wearing 3D glasses and there are 2 NBCs ones, one marquee and a diorama pin. I'm not sure if there's more to add to this collection.

Besides my souvenir pins, I have a collection of pins from Disney's Jules Verne-based movies and attractions: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Tokyo Disneysea's Mysterious Island, Disneyland Paris' Space Mountain, the Astro-Orbitor, and so on. However, not just any Jules Verne-Walt Disney pin, just the ones with Disney cartoon characters on them. For example I'm currently working on completing the set with Mickey and co. as the 20,000 Leagues characters. Right now I have Mickey as Captain Nemo, Goofy as Prof. Aronnax and Stitch as Ned Land.

Lumpy!!

Here he is! Loved him ever since I went to DLRP in 2004. There's less than 15 pins listed on pinpics and my most recent addition to tthe collection is this one:

and I love him!

aw there's so mmmanny cute collections! Cx I'm glad I am not the only one xD

@Amy: Are you going to get the august stitch back to school pin then? I want the jessica one....just because I like naughty school teachers >w>

MICKEY HEAD BALLOONS!

I love them because they are so colorful and fun. But moreso because they are Disney Park icons, they are a way for me to express some love for Disney itself, whereas most of my collection focuses specifically on Pixar.

Here's a link to the Pinpics group I created: http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/group.cgi?group=5709

Here are some examples; some I already have, and some I don't:

This one is one of my favorite overall pins that I own, which got me started on this collection:

And my two Most Wanted pins that I don't want to put in my signature because they are not Pixar pins:

I collect the Country Bears. Theyve definitely always been my favorite for as long as I can remember. Big Al especially. I also Collect Goofy, Not many people wanting him. Shame. And Roger Rabbit and Benny the Cab. They hardly get the limelight and when they do, theyre overshadowed by Jessica. I only collect them and all of the other characters like the weasels and Baby Herman. Never really see anyone with them on their lanyards and what not. I love the muppets so it only felt right to start showing my love and support. I collect all of those guys. Those are the only obscure characters I can name. And theyre my main collection!

Those are some very fun and cool specific subjects to collect! Now I'm thinking of expanding some of my random one or two pins into collections like 20thousand leagues and cowboy mickey - uh oh . . . . .

Amy - I love your school Stitch collection!!! As a school teacher, that has me thinking. I have about 4 teacher related pins and that is it. My main collection is Belle, which is definitely not an unusual theme. But lately, I have been on the look out for the cuties versions of mickey and minnie. My favorite one that I just got is this one:

Minnie in the teacup is just precious with Figaro covering his eyes. And the Mickey tumbler is super fun, too!

I love all your collections. I wish I was a millionaire, so I could collect everything!

I collect the Independence Day/historical pins that depict the American Revolution, signing of the Declaration of Independence, etc. I'm getting my masters in history specializing the American Revolution. I find the pins to be beyond adorable.
