So I was randomly googling Disney things and i stumbled across this:::

Dose anyone know anything about it, can you still buy it and how much is it?? I just Love to get my hands on one! its so pretty!! the site I found it on says its fiber optic!! Any help would be appreacited!!
Thankies!!

From the bio page of the artist Dave Avanzino in the Art of Disney Parks website, I found the Tinker Bell Illuminated Icons Letter Shadowbox artwork listed among his recent releases. It doesn't list a price, but similar works by him go for $75. It can be found in various shops in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I know I've seen this Tinker Bell item before in Disneyland. The next time I go I will look for it and let you know if it is still for sale there.

I saw it at DLR yesterday! It is gorgeous and I want it SO bad lol! The fiber optics are a really pretty addition! It was $120 so a bit out of range for me but I really think it is worth it!

Wow thanks for the links DRJ1828 He's done some pretty amazing stuff!!

I'd just love to have this too AverysFairyTale, but like wise $120 is a bit much right after christmas, plus i bet international shipping would cost a fourtune!! lol (any ideas how big it is just out of curiosity??) It may be something I have to save up for, or put it on my birthday list!! lol

Thanks for all your help guys!! :-D

You're welcome, tankgirl_13! It's like a treasure hunt to search for information and images about a certain item on the internet.

According to the previous eBay auction listing Disney/Dave Avanzino TINKERBELL ILLUMINATED SHADOWBOX its dimensions are 20 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 3 3/8".

Another listing Disney TINKERBELL Light Up Animated Avanzino Shadowbox has nice photos and description of the illuminated effects:
Turn on the switch and Tinker Bell's silouette can be seen in the lantern, then watch her leave a trail of brightly colored pixie dust around the letters which spell her name.
You may already have seen this webpage, but Themepark Shopper has Tinkerbell Shadow Box - Dave Avanzino listed at $129.99, and they ship internationally. You could try putting it in your shopping cart and see how much shipping to the UK would cost.

Photos of David Avanzino's Shadowbox Artwork for Disneyland

Here are some photos I took today of David Avanzino's shadowbox artwork that is on display (and for sale) in Disneyland's Disneyana store (on Main Street). I also took a video of the Tinker Bell shadowbox, showing the fiber optic illumination. I will post that later after I edit it and upload it to Flickr.

HD Video - available room lighting

Showing the moving fiber optic background illumination in the shadowbox. The lighting changes in position, color and intensity, and with differing speed. It is like watching an auroral display, only this one is presumably controlled by Tinker Bell herself. It is very beautiful, and watching the video over and over at my home has convinced me to purchase it the next time I go to Disneyland.

I love the Nightmare one - I've got to get that at some point! Are these limited edition?

No, it is an open edition. Note that this work and several others that I just posted about have had a substantial increase in price from the Art of Disney online catalog for David Avanzino's recent releases. This same work was listed at only $75 there. I guess they should update their catalog.

WOW!!!
DRJ1828 Thankyou so much for getting those pictures and posting all that!! I soo wish I could get the tink box, If you happen to buy one for your self and its not to much trouble could I ask you to weigh it for me in the box it comes in so I can try and figure how much international shipping would be?? (if not then no worries!) I looked at that website you gave me and have sent them an e-mail as the checkout dosent show international even tho they say they will ship, Im just waiting for a reply.
I think as soon as Ive paid my hoilday off i might have to look at getting this box! I just LOVE it!! lol too bad im going to be in miami and not CA otherwise i'd get one for sure!!!! lol

I bought the Pirates one a few years ago and I thought it was absolutely worth the price! If only I collected Tink...those fiber optics are really cool!

You're welcome, tankgirl!

You could call or email Disney Resort Merchandise Guest Services to see if Walt Disney World carries this item.

Their phone number is 1-877-560-6477 (I'm not sure if this toll-free number works outside the USA).
Their email is merchandiseguestservices@disney.go.com

If I buy it, I will most certainly weigh it for you so you can estimate the shipping cost to the UK. I will also ask a CM at Disneyana if they can get me an estimate, too.

I went to Disneyland today to buy the Tinker Bell shadowbox. Now that I have it at home and can dim the lights, the special effects look better than it did in the store! I will do post some photos of it and a video shortly.

Also, for tankgirl:

1. The shadowbox itself weighs 10 pounds, but the CM said the shipping weight would be 18 pounds. They have to pack it very carefully, as its electronics and glass front are very fragile. In fact the first shadowbox that she brought out to me didn't work when she put batteries in it. It needs 3 AA batteries, which are not included. Fortunately, they had a second one in stock that did work perfectly.

2. The shadowbox itself measures 20.5 x 7.5 x 3.5 inches. The box it comes in measures 23.5 x 10 x 6 inches. However, it is made of thin cardboard, and in no way would suffice as a shipping box. The shipping box would have to be much larger and properly filled with packing material to protect the shadowbox from damage. Each end of the shadowbox is placed in a large piece of styrofoam measuring 10 x 5.5 x 5.5 inches, and it is wrapped in a plastic bag, but it otherwise unprotected in its original box. It would have been nice if the styrofoam covered the entire length of the shadowbox.

3. The CM looked up the shipping charges to the UK, and it came out to $90! She suggested that instead, you buy it in person when you visit the US. Then bring it back with you in an extra suitcase that large enough to fit the shadowbox in its original carton. She said that is also probably for sale in Walt Disney World, but was pulling for you to visit Disneyland instead. LOL.

THAYNKYOU so much for all your help and getting all the info for me DRJ1828 the videos and pictures you posted are just stunning!! Im defferntly gonna try and get one of these in march when im in miami, (hopefully ill have a speare day to get up to disney, as we are going for wrestle mainia so most of our time will be taken up with the wrestleing events! lol)
after looking into it and with the info youve given me i think internationla postage will be too much by the time ive factored in customes fees as well, it could almost double the cost of the shadow box itself. If im able to get one i'll just take it as hand luggage on the flight home! lol Id love to vist disneyland one day but for now that trip will have to wait, (i have 2 big hoildays planed for next year thats putting a strain on the bank! ;-)
Thankyou again soo much,
youve been a big big help im very greatfull to you!!!
