Hi everybody, I write one of these at least once a year, so those of you who have heard it before, I am sorry, but it is a good reminder. For those of you who are new(er) and have not heard my thoughts on zapping I hope you will take a few minutes and read this.

I, like everybody else, like/loves to be zapped. But I would like to remind people who are zapping that we do this for very selfish reasons. We like the feeling we get when we make somebodies day better. It is a way to bring a smile to somebody else and let them know we are thinking of them. That they are not alone in the very large world of ours. It is one of the amazing things about pin traders and this pin trading community of ours that makes it different then any other collectible I have ever been in search of. I have never been a part of any online community like we have here at DPF! My kids still can't believe I spend so much time here dealing with other people. For the most part I am not a huge fan of a lot of the humans on this planet and I would never partake in anything like this before I found DPF. This wonderful place has brought both Amy and myself a lot of joy. So we give back whenever we can.

Now that I have admitted that zappers can be selfish, let me explain my view on zapping. When I zap somebody something, it is theirs to do with whatever they please. If you like the zap and want to keep it great. If you decide you can use it to trade for something that would bring you more joy that is fantastic also. If, and I hope this never happens, you get into a money pinch and need to sell it or if you want to sell it to get your grail pin then by all means do so. As far as I am concerned, a zap is a gift to make you happy in any way possible. I want the receiver to know that at that moment I was thinking of them and wanted to bring some happiness and joy into their life!!!

As for zapping us back or in general zapping us, we always are happy to know that somebody is thinking of us as well. But the best way you can repay our kindness/selfishness is to zap it forward to another person and then let us know you did it. That brings more joy to us then you will ever know. Also it is really hard to zap us because I am addicted to pin trading and 90 percent of the wants on our list are going to be used as traders. I live in Seattle and have to feed my pin trading addiction some how. Besides I get to meet great people from all over the world.

So if you are one of those people who might get upset if we use your zap as a trader then please do not zap us. I would much rather you not be upset with us and not zap us then to zap us and get upset if you see your pin on my traders list. Anybody who checks my traders and wants list will probably notice I have a lot of the same pins on both. I do that because certain pins trade really well for me.

To sum up, we love the members in our extended DPF family and would never want to hurt anybodies feelings. Zappers are selfish, but the best kind of selfish. Spread joy any chance you can. The world needs more joy in it.

Thank you to all of our family!!!

Well said!

As far as I'm concerned, if I've traded, sold, or zapped a pin to someone, that pin is now theirs to do whatever they'd like.

Hehe, I remember reading this last year! And yes, my zaps also go out with no strings attached!

:)

If I do happen to receive a zap that doesn't fit into any of my collections, I usually stick it on my cork board full of random keepsakes above my computer desk! I love looking at everything! And the memories of where/who they came from make me smile every day!

I know that there are some people who have gotten upset with others in the past. I never want to upset anybody so I figure it is easier to put it out there every once and while how I deal with and feel about zaps. It does not mean that feeling different is wrong, I just like to be upfront about it and let people know if they might be upset I would prefer not to be zapped and to let those I zap know there will be no hard feelings if they decide to do something different with the pins we zap. Tastes change and I want those who we zap to be happy, if it means they are happy by finding something else so be it. Zapping to me is supposed to bring happiness.
