Is this pin on PinPics – or is it an official pin at all?

Triton Tokyo.jpg

There are some pins there that look similar, like these:

http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=966&sid=9611.1326919040.v2

http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/pin.cgi?pin=47336&sid=9611.1326919040.v2

But the other one is from DLRP and the back stamps are different. On my pin the stamp says:

Tokyo Disneyland
2001-1
© Disney
China

There's no OPT-stamp. The SKU on the card is 400115301465.

Also, there's some metal on my pin between Tritons thumb and his waist which there isn't in the pictures on PinPics – but are they pictures of the actual pin? Anybody know more about this one?

I suppose there is no Rescuers Poster pin with the correct year, and I should add this 1963 pin

in my Owns under the 2001 Error pin:

there are a lot of tokyo pins that never make it to pinpics, as I find new ones on the various Japanese I visit I try to post them, the only thing I do find odd is the backer card is shorter than the pin, all the Tokyo pins I own the backer card is always ample enough to cover the pin

What's your opinion (or the consensus here), should similar designs be added under one PinPics id, or should similar pins from different outlets be added separately if there's something to tell them apart by (like the stamp on the back of the pin)? I can see the pros and cons in both: several ids with similar design clutter up PinPics, but on the other hand completists wouldn't be able to ad all their pins in the database or you couldn't easily tell which pin you're offering for trade.

Last week when I was home battling death (the doctor called it a flu but what does he know) I decided to update my Pinpics account with pins I've had laying around. I found I had several pins from Japan on such mini cards with SKUs and everything.

I say list all similar pins, but be clear about the differences/where they come from, so people know what to look out for.

Good idea lauren,,,also on the rescuers poster pin, i know there is an error pin with the wrong release date. Maybe you have that one??
