I arranged a trade thru pin pics on August 30 with a trader from Hong Kong. I asked for references, but they said they had none but not to worry they would mail my pins on 8/30. I mailed a package to them on 8/31. I have a receipt and a customs form number.

They swear they mailed my pins. Asked me to wait until October 5th to receive them and if not received they would send my pins back. In the middle of September, they sent me a PHOTO of a package with my name on it, but said HK didnt give receipts and if I didn't trust them too bad.

When October 5th came, and no package, I asked them to send my pins back. They then claimed they haven't gotten my pins.

They have removed their trader name from pin pics. Maybe just changed it, I don't know. However, if you want their name and addy, PM me.

I am ot sure if I can file international mail fraud.

that totally sucks that this has happened to you :( thats strange and hope you can get it worked out somehow.

only thing I will say is the not giving reciepts happens here in Ireland when sending stuff via just normal post as you have to ask and then all they do is stamp a piece of paper and write down the cost of postage so its not much proof. so that might be genuine or a lie you never know but just adding it might be true.

On October 14th they sent me the following statement:

have already gome to post office to check for you. The receipt is needing to add $13 more. Thats why l have not the receipt. Sorry.

But if l receive your pin, l will take back for you*

What does that mean?

Even if you could the chances that they would do anything since it's such a small amount(assuming the pin isn't worth hundreds) are slim to none. I filed a claim probably about 6-7 years ago regarding a trade I did in the US for an action figure that was worth about $50 and I never heard a thing about it.

What i think it means is they owe more postage on the package they sent you and if they get your pin then they will mail their package to you.

Sending their stuff with a mailing receipt would have cost them $ 13 more, so they did not pay that amount and hence no receipt. If they receive their pins they will send them back.

I'm really sorry to hear you got a bad experience. I've traded with Hong Kong once no problem, but then two trades went bad. I didn't lose anything because I insisted they'd mail first, but it did leave sour grapes behind. I am generally not trading with Hong Kong traders anymore.

I generally dont trade with hong kong as I have had problems before you need to report this to the pinpics mods
Jacqui

I filled out a complaint but the mods won't do anything (states this on their page). Thanks for the reply!

Well, they have gone back and forth between saying they got my pins and IF they got them. I think they are lying. What are the chances that BOTH of our packages wouldn't have made it?

I'm sorry to hear about this.

My question is: did they remove their username or did Pinpics remove it because of too many complaints?

I would still go ahead and file a complaint for mail fraud. Does the photo they show you show postage on it?
