Okay so I traded with someone in Hong Kong back in February. I shipped my pins the day after we finalized the trade and she must have shipped hers quickly too because I got them in about three weeks. Well soon thereafter I got an e-mail from her saying she had not received her pin. I told her that my local post office informed me it could take up to 6 weeks for the package to arrive from here to Hong Kong and for her to please let me know if/when she got her pins. Well several e-mails later and she still did not receive her pins. I e-mailed her back concerned about it, however she never responded.

So I check my mail today and there is the package of pins I sent her. It was returned to me and said "No such address." So it took 4 months for them to realize "no such address" and return the package? I double checked the address/name and it is all exactly as she spelled out in the e-mail. I sent her another e-mail and hope she responds.

So in summary I know it wasn't my fault but I feel horrible that I got my pins and she never did. Now I hope she responds and we can figure out why they won't deliver the package to her address? I feel so terrible! Has this ever happened to anyone else?

This just happened to me, but not with a pin. I mailed a bill and it came back as no such address. It's the same address I mail to each month. I called the vendor to verify the address and sure enough I had put the right address on it. The PO is just nuts anymore. But, I'm hoping it will happen on a pin I sent over a week ago. I wanted to zap someone a grail pin and mistyped the address. The PO claims it was delivered, but the address doesn't exist, so how they delivered it is a mystery to me. I can only pray it comes back as no such address. I know the frustration. Sorry that happened to you.

Yes this happened to me back in March, a trade with Japan. I received a pin Returned to Sender as address unknown. We had traded back in September. Unfortunately I no longer had the person's email address. They had never contacted me saying they didn't get it & I had received their pin with no problems!
I had no option but to put it back on my traders list. I agree though, it's totally weird.

"Six weeks" is generally what it takes for surface mail to arrive internationally, as I have sent many packages to various locations around the globe, inclucing Hong Kong. If you speciify that you want to send it air mail, I have found that it takes less time to arrive internationally than it does for a package to arrive here in Canada from the US even if it is sent air mail. I've never experienced the "no such address" though, so perhaps she erred in typing it out originally. I do know this happens as I've had a few addresses that didn't quite make sense when I looked at them, so I asked before sending and got a couple corrected before this sort of thing happened. I know it takes forever for a returned package to get back to you and it feels so bad that it wasn't delivered, but all you can do now is wait and hope she gets back to you.

At least you got your pins back. I tried trading with someone in the UK (who has lots of good feedback) and neither of us received anything. She even said she re-shipped to me twice (a tad suspicious - she just happened to have 3 of the same pin?) but nothing. Sadly, it's just a writeoff at this point.

Does she have someone in the USA she trusts you could send too..I do that with several international pkgs and then they send it on

take a picture of the label and package and send it to them, finally every time you send international you get a customs number so you and them can check on it but its not anything like tracking

The USPS is NOT WHAT it used to be. The backbone of America....dependable....respectable and proud. Now they are in bankruptcy, i wonder why. It DOES NOT take 6 week to ship over seas. It is 2013, it takes 5-7days. Come on. So my friends.....you are always taking a risk and at this expensive point im gonna look into shippin with fed ex or UPS who CAN give you overseas tracking. i'll post the prices soon but i will say this week i shipped to Japan and Holland -both had 3 pins and both cost $9.60 each.

Well I got in touch with her and it does seem that she mistyped her address so at least I know I didn't do anything wrong.

Now the only problem is she wants to change the trade and it would be verrrrry lopsided in her favor and I'd rather not do that. =/
