I think the box is real. It used to be on ebay about 2 yearsa ago before someone bought it and I think that's how most of them got split up :3

I was hunting this collection down right after that photo surfaced and have never seen one in a box like that. I've heard that was a planned frame because this would have been a framed set, however, they could not reach an agreement with a company to supply the frames and the idea was cancelled. Gave us some nice pins though.
