An upcoming pin from Disney is listed as an online exclusive. It is a LE of 500 so does that mean that you have to be on the Disney store's website when they are released to try and get the pin?

If you're talking about the one of Ariel and her sisters (LE 500), that one indeed is an online exclusive, but there is a catch. It's sold through Disney Store UK's online site (I believe) and you have to live in the United Kingdom, Ireland (and maybe Europe?) if you want to order it/attempt to order it. This internet site will NOT ship to United States addresses (that much I do know).

It looks like the Disney pin website is messing up for me because pretty much all the upcoming pins I looked at say "This online exclusive Disney Park Adventures Mystery Set features ten (10) pin designs. The collection features Disney characters on board various Disney Theme Park attractions. Each box contains two (2) randomly selected open edition pins" in the description. Even the Limited Edition 500 one that I was originally talking about so I guess they just have the wrong info for that pin. Sorry, I got excited too.

Disney Shopping has been attempting to "appease" long time collectors with some "online" exclusive pin sets,Online Exclusive Main Street Cinema Minnie and Mickey Mouse Pin http://www.disneystore.com/pins-pins-art-collectibles-online-exclusive-main-street-cinema-minnie-and-mickey-mouse-pin/mp/1302639/1000211/ and the now sold out Online Exclusive Disney Parks Adventure Pin Starter Sethttp://www.disneystore.com/pin-sets-pins-pins-art-collectibles-online-exclusive-disney-parks-adventure-pin-starter-set/mp/1301418/1000286/

But these are little more than hallow remnants of the once glorious pins they released for collectors. For examples of what used to be, you can see current releases via the Disney Soda Fountain and WDI pins. But even then, they're still not the same size and quality and more importantly CREATIVITY of those bygone days.
