If you go to DSSH Facebook and click on the black and purple picture you can navigate to the rules/info paper (page 6). Under "Sales Questions", will pins be sold at the event will answer the question about when you need to make the pin's purchase.

This is why in my sponsorship thread (here is my shameless plug), I am asking for payment by September 10. I will have to purchase the pins during registration on September 11. :)
 
I just got in on the awesome romancing_train's co-op for this, and I have a dumb question about how sponsorships work: What is the benefit of sponsoring someone to attend an event such as this, where there's both a fee to reserve your spot and additional fees for the actual purchase of pins, vs just buying into a co-op? I'm assuming that sponsors - in addition to contributing to the cost of entry - still have to pay for the pins they want. Since the Dark Tales pins are LE 300 and there's a maximum of only 150 attendants allowed at the event, I'm assuming each attendee has the opportunity to buy 2 sets. So my best guess is that a sponsor gets to keep a full set, and the second set is split up for the co-op. But this is assuming that the actual attendee isn't keeping a set for themselves. Or maybe the sponsors are just securing the special event pins that are included with the entry fee...?

Sorry if this is super obvious! I've done basic pick-ups before but only one other co-op, and the main sponsorship fee was just divided between each participant. Not sure how it works for situations with sponsors + co-op buyers.

EDIT: Or maybe sponsors are just kindhearted souls doing it for the greater good, so that less fortunate collectors who are short on funds still have the opportunity to buy a pin or two. ;)

It depends if it's a full or partial sponsorship and what details are worked out between the person doing the sponsoring and the person being sponsored. Every sponsorship sis has done, the person doing the sponsorship gets everything - the free gifts, all pins they want at cost, the whole shebang. For DSSH ones, they don't get the movie ticket or the PTD vouchers since these can only be redeemed in Hollywood. It's as if the person doing the sponsorsing was going themselves (except for the vouchers and movie ticket and the lunch and the actual trading on the boards)

For partial sponsorships, that depends on what is worked out between the parties. In this case, if there was a partial sponsorship, then ideally the person doing the sponsoring and the person being sponsored would each get one set of the pins that are 2 per person. This is assuming the costs are split at about 50/50. The free gifts are up for negotiation (unless already stated what happens to them in the original post seeking sponsorships)

If you noticed the pricing structure in her post, you're not paying at cost for the pins in the co-op. Those prices include a sponsorship fee.

Thanks for such a thorough answer! I guess it's pretty subjective. I'm just trying to get more of a handle on how these things work since I'm moving to LA in the spring, and I'd love to help out other members by doing pick-ups at events like this.

Yep I was just wondering about the difference between that and the two actual "sponsors" who are paying $100+ in addition to their pins. Sorry, my post was long and probably confusing.

Oh I think I see what you mean. I guess the people who pay for the sponsorship get priority vs ppl who are buying into the co-op. It esp makes sense if the sponsors are wanting all the pins packages rather than individual pins.

It looks like a partial sponsorship if she's not asking for the $275 sponsorship fee?
 
A co-op works better for people who only want one or two pins from the release. A full or partial sponsorship works better for people who want most/all of the pins from the release.

Usually, people are limited to one of each pin per release. However, since most pins are two per person for this event, you'll see more people for this event offering half sponsorships, where each person gets a set of the two per person pins and the one per person pins (jumbo and gift pins) and extras, such as the PTD vouchers, will be negotiated between the two people.

I thought they might be smaller because they appeared to be in boxed sets, but those look big and beautiful! Good luck to everyone trying to get tickets on Monday. Everyone one in FL keep safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
