QUESTION VMK POTC Pluto pin - fake? scrapped?

Just traded for this pin at a recent trade event and not sure what to make of Pluto's nose. It's not completely filled in black like other pictures I've seen online of the same pin, notably Pinpics. The back looks OK and the nubs next to the post look OK, just the nose. Is this just bad QC? Just seeing if anyone's got any info on this one, thanks!

Hmmm, that is an interesting difference on the nose. I am unfamiliar with this pin. I hope someone can assist.
