Wait time to be worried?

So I'm completely worried that I've been scammed. I bought three pins from a guy on Facebook last Monday and one of them is a mini grail of mine. After I sent him a payment, he stopped communicating quickly. It took hours to get an answer from him about shipping, he said he was at disneyland buying pins and had no service. He said he shipped the pins Friday morning and he only lives in LA, which is only two hours from me. He never sent me the tracking info and he said he was busy with disneyana to answer or send the tracking. It's Tuesday, no pins and hasn't responded to me since Saturday morning. :sad:

It sometimes takes a while for things to be delivered in Southern California. I've noticed that when I ship through the post office, it was faster to get to the East Coast than it was to get to Los Angeles (yup, one package I mailed on a Monday to the East Coast got there Thursday, but a package I mailed that same day to L.A. didn't get to L.A. til Friday!)

Did you pay as goods? Did he provide a tracking # to PayPal? I'd give it one week to get it and if you don't get it by Saturday, file a claim (you have 45 days from the day you made payment to file one)

I have experienced the same. I bought some pins form someone on ebay. She replied quickly when discussing the price and payment info. But after I paid it took several days for her to reply. This was the first (and only) time I bought pins of such value. I was super worried that I was scammed. She did reply after a week and a half telling me she had shipped it. Giving me the trackig number a day later.

In the future I would have some more patience. As it had a high value I was a little bit over worried.

I assume you paid with paypal as goods ? That way you can file a claim /infraction if it takes too long. Just as starry_solo

Just to add, it's odd but Disneyland does have a lot of dead areas. One moment a signal and then its gone, it's often difficult to stay in touch. and from Friday till Sunday Disneyana had a trading and sales event going on. Not that it should have slowed down the mail, but communicating may have been slow due to it.

I just thought it was weird because I made a trade with a girl and she shipped from century city to me in San Diego and it got here yesterday morning and she sent it out Friday! That's kind of why I've been worried about it. It's my first high value purchase from non eBay. I made sure to pay as goods and he even insisted it which made me trust him also. I'm just nervous, I wanted the pins more than anything.

It can all depend how it gets bounced between post offices as well. For same-coast packages I usually don't get concerned till a week after the ship date.

I just think it's weird that he hasn't contacted me back and the messages say he hasn't even read them. I don't know what's going, but I'm no fan of it haha. Hopefully it ends well though.

Any updates?

I will tell you what happened to one of my packages that was shipped from the Mid-west on Wednesday (priority mail, expected delivery was yesterday). The post office MISREAD the zip code and shipped it to 92688 Rancho Santa Margarita, instead of my PO Box in Corona.

But definitely write the person and ask again for the tracking number.

If it is any consolation, I made a trade in may and it just showed up yesterday. Stupid post office.

I concur with the others. I too have had a pin or two take the scenic route to my mailbox. :lol: Fortunately, I knew the parties I was trading with and that they were good traders. Like docfish2u, I had one pin take two months to find me - the post date matched the date the trader told me the sent it.

Stay in contact with your trader and stay calm. If they were at Disneyland and Disneyana, I'm sure they are probably insanely busy and not trying to ignore you.

Hey guys! Happy update time! So I had been messaging the guy everyday asking for the tracking and seeing what was going on about it. I still hadn't heard from him for over a week and I got an admin involved who was also not able to get a hold of him for a couple days. He called another admin who was with the seller at that time and had him contact me, which still took him two days to do. He messaged me this morning saying his mom shipped the pins wrong and couldn't find the receipt for the tracking info but he was looking for it.

Thankfully the mail came and the pins were there! What happened was that the mail man ended up getting fired, didn't empty his satchel and didn't tell anyone about it. They just found his satchel this morning and made sure to get it to me. So post office faults, but if I had the tracking I would of been able to see it was at the post office and still terrible communication. But I got my princesses! The seller has apologized repeatedly about it and seemed truly upset about it all.

He said that he had never received any of my messages and didn't know what was happening until this past Saturday. I would of been a whole lot more patient if I had received the tracking number from him from the beginning.
