I agree with Tyleet, if everyone who is pursuing a new database I think it would be better to pool each others resources into one as I gave said I don;t mind helping with PTN pins or any other pins I have for pictures and descriptions but I won't be helping till we have a definite alternative to Pinpics as I have not got the time to be doing it more than once haha
 
Best of luck with this. I will help in any way I can. I will be adding pics to both sites. It would be convenient to have only one because of the multiple updating of the same pin as we trade and add to our collections. I do like Pinventory as a site name.
 
Nice job Ryan. Glad to see your hard work is getting done. I always was wondering if and when you would just help fix the sill troubles we were having. Congrats. Hope all is well with you and the fam.
 
Ryan, I tried adding a pin to the database. It went well :) However, when I added the picture, I made a mistake and now it shows like 6 of the same picture since I clicked too many times. Could you delete all those pictures please and keep the one with the white background? That is the one I want to submit. Sorry for all the extra stuff :( The Vanellope Cart pin I added if you don't mind fixing that please :)

That has been taken care of and the form has been changed to help prevent that. I have also added the Own/Trades/Wants/Buy/Sell feature. Next is pic voting.
 
Bumping this :)

The website is fantastic! It's nice to have a forum attached but every time I've visited no one is posting; however there is usually someone in chat. For people stopping by to take a look, I think a little more visible activity would help draw them in, which might result in more contributions to the database. Just a suggestion. :)

It was originally meant for us to chat in the forum while DPF was down for maintenance, but it has changed to be a Database with a chat room. No one is in the DPF chat anymore so I usually go to the PTDB chat room :)
 
We also need help adding pins to the database. I haven't been able to keep up with all the new releases, unfortunately.

But it would also be great if we could get the old DAs, DS, Gomes, etc. added with pictures :)

Thank you to those who designed the logo. We have approximately 12939 pins listed (the number count is off as far as when you add a pin because we had to delete duplicate entries and the numbers don't then re-set.)
 
Do you mean the pin number / ID on your site doesn't match the actual quantity of pins in the database? So, for instance, I could add the 13,000th pin, but its "ID" in your system might be 13267? Or something along those lines?

Yes,that is correct!:)

Right now, our last pin # 13289 but we only have 12939 pins in our database. That means we had 350 duplicate entries which were deleted
 
If the mismatch bugs you, you can go online and find a bunch of different SQL and/or LINQ solutions that will allow you to always assign the first unused record number in the db. This will have the effect of "filling in the holes" for now, and then once they're filled, your record # and pin # should be the same moving forward, until you need to delete records again, and then it'll fill the holes again and so on.

If it bugs you, that is :)
 
Cool that people all look at this and helping. Maybe this summer we can do the potluck meet up thing like in the past but we can set up a camera or 2 so we get lots or pics at once. People can trade and make friends while also adding lots of data to the site. I would bring my camera and help out for sure.

It was quite useful of you guys to resurrect this thread; as a relative newbie I didn't realize that was an active database since it's size is still so small. If we don't have complete information about the pin because we got it in trade - can we still upload it?

Does anyone know the fastest way to identify pins as owns/wants/trades in this database?
