What do you do with scrappers?

I think there are lots of uses for scrappers. I have used them as push pins on bulletin boards - it doesn't matter if they get lost or broken. I am a school psychologist and have used them with math and writing interventions with my students (counting manipulatives for math, story starters for writing). You can wear them without worrying about losing them because it is not a big deal if they fall off. You can make them into magnets. So many things. Just have fun and make an icky pin into something useful.

I don't give them to kids because those kids could eventually go trade them in the park. I have a bag I keep to show people examples to help them tell the difference. I have a few fake pins that I own the real versions of also and those are great to show new collectors side by side to help them see. My BFF is taking her girls to WDW this month and I got them some traders and gave them a fakes and scrappers lesson. I know some people use them for art projects but most of the ones I have gotten stuck with are too ugly for that! lol! I can see doing that if only the back looks bad though.

Like docfish2u, I take the back off (those are reuseable) and throw it away.

I don't bring scrappers to the park, so if I trade with a CM there and what I get is fake, I'll retrade that.

That would do it!!I would love to see the finished prod too..you could always sell them here on DPF ,once you get enough posts to do so

Glad you posted this question! I'm still fairly new to Disney pin collecting (started about 6 months ago), and I have had some people who have been collecting for a good long while inform me that a few pins I've purchased are scrappers. Talk about disappointment! I love the idea of turning them in to magnets, thanks for the idea!!
