So it's a slow day at work, so i decided to catalog some of my pins. my co-worker asked me about the pins. first of all, it was funny trying to describe why a 30 something year old married man was collecting disney pins. second, i was trying to explain to him how some of the pins are rare, and worth more than others, so he asked, "whats the most expensive pin?". i never actually thought about it. i searched, googled, and ebayed for the most expensive pins i could find. on average $200-$300 pins were found, and some towards $400-$500, but non over $500 or even reaching $1000 for a pin or pin set.

now i understand, that pins are "worth" more to one person, than the next person. i also saw the current thread, that included a poll, of what the most a person has spent on a pin. again, a pin that someone spent $100 on, i may not buy for more than $20. so i ask, what is the most expensive pin and pin set do you know about? the pin/pin set price should be a realistic price, that the majority of the people who collect the same type/kind of pin would be willing to pay for. not like that joke of a listing on ebay for that r/c rapunzel pin for $5200. but then again, some rapunzel fanatic just may pay a great amount for that particular pin.

post your best answers please!

I would say Elisabete Gomes pins are amongst the most 'long standing/non fad' expensive pins, NOT like the Rapunzel pins (inc. the R/C pin :lol that are probably just a craze for right now.... last time I saw the infamous Fantasia Sprite pin sell on the Bay, it was close to $800.....

Edit: that Rapunzel pin sold for $1050 yesterday

well, on ebay, I went to completed listings, typed in Disney pin, and did highest first.

The nhighest actual sold listing was for a group of 80 DSF Marquee pins $3,800.00

And it did not include the "impossible 4" marquees. Which means that if it did, it might have gotten to $5k.

I have seen some of the older Cast pins bring up to $1200 in the past. A lot of that costume stuff never comes up so when it does it brings a lot. Definitely some Gomes pins such as the Sprite and Sleeping Beauty have brought in a lot of money ($600+ in the past). I have also seen some LE 25 and LE 50 pins bring in quite large amounts of money. I don't know what the MOST expensive pins is but that seems to change a lot lately with the "fad" pins esp with what the R/C Rapunzel sold for.

what are the "impossible 4" ???
