OK, I am stumped. I have been trying to get this one pin for quite a while now and it seems eternally out of my grasp. Am I missing something about the pin or the subline it belongs to?

Pin 53709: WDW - White Glove - Remember When - Mickey Mouse - 25th Anniversary
pin53709

This is an LE750, released in April 2007, and retailed for $15. I remember when the castle was done up like this for the 25th anniversary and I remember being in the park and a lot of the "purists" were not liking the castle deco, so I wonder, why is it so hard to get this pin?

I have been trying and offering high trades. Someone else here has been trying to help too, and they got one bite, but it was going to cost them:
Pin 84690: DLP - Pin Trading Night - Jumbo - Jessica Rabbit

Is that pin really worth a DLRP PTN Jumbo that is currently selling for $100 plus? What am I not seeing?

My guess... The white glove pins were the first big set of $15 releases, I think. I remember a lot of people being turned off on the price. So I'm guessing not a lot of them ended up in the hands of traders and more were bought for personal collections (pin traders and tourists). While the cakestle was unpopular at the time, I think it did coincide with a lot of people's trips (and first trips) to WDW, and people look back at it with an amusing nostalgia (as long as the NEVER do it again :) ). But I don't keep up on values enough to know if it is worth $100.

I have no idea why people are not willing to trade it, but there are only 7 as per pinpics and I am not sure how many of those are really active traders.

I wanted to compare it to 60967 although not a very great mactch.

Your pin is LE 750 and 60967 is LE 1000. Both have only 7 people trading it, but Thumper pin has a larger number of people wanting it. I have seen that pin go in the $40-50 ball park open auction style. There is one up for auction right now.

So, having a higher price ($15 vs $10.95) and being a special anniversay White Glove pin with a smaller LE number, I would place that pin in the $50-$60 ballpark maybe.

Oh, quahogs ... and now I want one too. LOL!

PS: Quahogs because we are trying real hard not to use 4 letter words or their similar substitutes around our almost 6 yr old. She recently called her lunch lady in school "dummy head" so mom got a call from her teach :(

I have sent out few requests for you. Only one of them answered to say "no". I got curious and sent him another e-mail to ask what he would expect for that pin as $$ value as well as a trade. He was very nice and got back to me. He had 2 of this pin. He sold one of them on Ebay for $60 about 6 months ago (which is the upper end of my estimate). He also e-mailed me what he is looking for it in trade. Out of respect for him, i will not go much further though.

wow in my opinion the jessica pin is no where near worth the pin you asked about and I say that without even looking at the wants vs trades of the other pin.

I actually remember this pin getting ready to be sold at WDW...really odd story. It was my first time ever to learn about pin trading and we were there in March. It was when they still had tables set up at DTD so I started talking to this guy who was super nice and literally took about an hour to explain the whole thing to me (showed me AP pins, talked about scrappers, etc.) He then pulled out a white glove pin and told me that they were super popular with collectors and that many people only collected white glove. Sure enough, when I went in the store to ask, the lady laughed when I asked her if they had any white glove pins for sale and she said that they typically sell out within minutes of putting them out. I'm wondering if that is the case with this pin...maybe many people collect the white glove pins and that's why this one is so hard to find? That and the fact that I'm sure you've got people that just collected the 25th anniversary stuff as well as people who just bought it out of sentiment. I put in a few trade requests for it...wish me luck!

That was one of the hardest of the Remember When set to get!!! Finally one of my friends was nice to me and gave it up at cost but I've never seen one sold on ebay and you could probably get more tradewise than cash. It's prolly a 50 -75 dollar pin but not valued the same as that Jessica Jumbo right now, that Jessica will tank soon though. :P
