I would like to know all your thoughts on what you would like to see in the games on this site. I have been trying to make my games better and better and I have a great idea for one now but it has to wait until mid March for me to do it. Until then I would like to get insight from the DPF members. I have gotten Goofy_Moes opinions already. (Feel free to post here too GM... LOL!) I would just like to get a consensus from a large group of what they would like to see. Feel free to post your thoughts here both good and bad. The one thing you will not do is hurt my feelings! OK... you probably won't hurt my feelings... LOL!

Hmm... well definitely pins that are tradeworthy... if not collection worthy! lol So I guess this is subject to interpretation... bc that could mean LEs, PoDMs, LRs, anything really...

But I would really appreciate games that have an entry fee of below $20 (that includes shipping). Sometimes for me when the price is above $20 I cannot afford it (*woomp woomp*) but then again.... Idk if such a game is possible w/ the 2 suggestions I gave XD I guess I'll have to see....

Oh oh and another thing I really do appreciate... when the game is posted, pictures of all the pins available in the game is a HUGE plus!! I'm a visual person so when I see games where I can see the pics (as opposed to just the pin pics #'s) of what I'm paying for/have a chance at that makes the game all the more enticing :3

Thank you for your suggestions. I would include that I do not like postings of just PinPics numbers in auctions either. I also like it when the person puts the total bids on their leader board so you know what you have to beat.

I understand about the lower entry price. The problem is most people have a certain amount of investment in the pins they are offering. With me I am not looking to make money but I do want to get back what my investment is. With that said, if you spent $500 on your pins you need to get $500 plus your shipping cost back. If you are only doing a game of 25 spots you would have to charge $25 just to recoop your cost. Pin games are not cheap on the person running them. The exception to this is when a person can go pick up a new release at cost instead of at second market prices it could bring the price down. That same game that has $500 worth of investment if you could do an 100 spot game could charge $5 but then you are looking at lesser pins as prizes because they have less money to spread over more spots. I think people that play the games do not think about the runners investment sometimes. For example... right now I am offering a Paris PTN Jiminy in a game that sells in auction format for over $300 on the bay. The consolation prizes are regular REAL authentic Disney Pins. Now in order to do a 100 spot game if you went for just retail of all said pins it would be in the neighborhood of $800 to $1000 if the pins were all just $8 to $10 each. That would not allow for every pin to be an LE unless the entry for this game was around $12 each plus shipping in the least. If the person running the game buys most of their pins second hand that price could really go up.

I do believe if you are running a game where the expense is higher you should post pictures of all the pins but not if it is a lower entry fee. If the entry fee for the game is low then the expectation should not be high anyway. That is my opinion. If the entry fee is low you are playing more for the chance to win the big prize not for what the consolation prize might be.

I hope I get a lot of feedback here and there is a great discussion on both games and auctions as I would really like to know what the expectations are from the members here.

Thanks

As of now, I'm drawn by the less expensive ones because I don't mind getting lesser traders. Wouldn't mind a PoC game with super-low buy-ins. I think it would be kind of fun and help those of us newbies who don't have any traders for lanyards. I don't know...just thinking out loud.

Maybe a newbie-only big brother/sister zap-supplemented game?

I have an idea that might fall into this category sort of. I am still working on it but watch for it in March sometime.

I'll second Supermannino's suggestion. I'm new, so my need for very expensive, rare pins is small. I am in a $20+ game right now, but it's my first one and I just decided to try it out, but can't imagine spending that much on a frequent basis. I'd be more likely to go for less expensive games "just for the fun of it", since I don't have a huge collection yet and it's more about the surprise and participation. :)

How about a March madness game. Auction a pin off, have 16 people secretly enter their bids to you. Then have a bracket and have pin-offs where people decide who wins and who advanced to the final pin showdown!!

I like games where you get to pick your prize. I know that is harder to do when it is a larger game with a 100+ slots.

I have one like that going right now. I have a pick your prize up now. The only thing is if all the spaces do not sell I can not do it and in that case it will be by the random number generator. I am also working on something that will be where you pick your own sort of coming as well. Watch for mid March!

OOO I have a GREAT idea for this! We can use the March Madness bracket and everything! I gotta work on this one!

Check the games board it is already listed!

I like themed games. For example, a game where ALL of the prizes are princess pins, or ALL of the prices are NBC pins. I know its a little harder to operate and run, but I am more inclined to take a gamble if I know for a fact what I am getting (if I will keep it in my collection or not!). I also like the pick-your-prize games, but I understand that those are hard to run as well!

No, I have a pick your prize on now. It isn't hard just time consuming. It would be hard to do one that was all one theme. It would be hard to get that many pins of one thing if you were not collecting them yourself. I don't know if I could swing that. Now something like one holiday like Halloween or Christmas would be doable during their respective time periods. I was going to do a Valentines one but then the whilte elephant started so I didn't.
