What would you do? (Pin Pics trade issue)

I posted in Pin Comparisons about a pin I got in a trade that I think is counterfeit, based on how the back looks, and others agreed. What should I do now? I want to let the trader know, but I don't know what I should expect to happen. Should I just let it go and not trade with this person again? What do people usually do?

contact trader, be polite and allow the idea they may not have known. Try to resolve the issue or reverse the trade. If they refuse, or do not respond, file complaint with pinpics.

This happened to me, too. I contacted them first, and they apologized and sent me another of the same pin (real). It doesn't hurt to try!

Thanks for the advice. I sent the trader a message saying that I know she probably just didn't notice but the border on the back means it's not an authentic pin. I also attached a picture so they could see it. It would be nice if they offered to send another pin but I'm not too worried about it. This person has thousands of pins listed for trades and has TONS of references and even sent a fancy business card that had the pin numbers of the trade. I'm thinking they must be educated about counterfeits, but maybe they had a lot of pins coming and going at once and didn't take the time to look closely at the one they sent me since it isn't one with known fakes. I always want to give people the benefit of the doubt. I'll let you guys know if and when I get a response.
