Have people stopped submitting new pins to Pinpics? There was a time when so many people were in a mad rush to post new pins to Pinpics and now it seem like that's not the case. I've never posted a new pin to Pinpics so I guess I'm not one to talk.

However, I was just surprised that none of the Thor pins from DSF were up and a few recent releases from WDI weren't up either. I'm sure there are plenty of other pins not up on Pinpics also...

Anyone else notice this? What's the deal?

It is really hard to add new pins now on pinpics. You can't edit your description unless its on the old website. You have to have a picture sent in to be able to add the pin I think. It's just really hard to navigate on the new site. Most people are just not motivated anymore is my guess?

Just add them to the old site... They'll get carried over from there (at least, as long as the old site is still active...)
I'll photograph all the Thor pins and add them over the weekend...

I still don't even use the new PinPics, and will probably just stop completely when the old site goes away. Unless there's some really easy way to use it that I'm missing, it's far to convoluted and confusing to figure things out...

Are the 'groups' being removed from the new site? I had heard rumor that that functionality was going away.

I didn't know they could still be added through the old site. The groups are not on the new site unfortunately They however tried to compromise though through the "Series" button on the bottom right side of a pin listing but sometimes pins don't come up. THey have done categories, but other than that, no, unfortunately not. I prefer not to use the new site either. It is just a hassle.

Yeah, my international friends/traders have noticed the lack, as well. I've been finding pins for my characters on ebay that I didn't even know existed.

Unless something changes with Pinpics soon, it looks like, at very least, the "good old days" will be done with. The "Good Old Days" in this case meaning that we have (had?) an easy, fairly reliable source, with people eager to contribute. People were so good at adding things that it was a shock for me to find something floating around without having been added (including stuff from HKDL, TDL, and other harder sources). Now, after the last few months, I'm no longer surprised that something isn't on there...

Pins is likely too strong a hobby for me to say something extreme like, "This is the beginning of the end"...but it's definitely a huge blow, not to have an accurate, timely database of new releases.

I wonder how many people even use the new pinpics? someone should make a poll.
When I need to use pinpics I only use the old website... but thats only when I make signatures for other people.
I don't really bother with pinpics anymore after the whole beta-sheep situation

Also, I heard the new pins have to be approved before they are posted...
thus multiple people adding the same pin, and the time they are posted is much longer....

This is probably why the newer pins are not added...

Well, that and because people don't want to put time into it when pinpics is making money off of it.

Yeah, but the problem is I use PinPics for custom groups under my name... Not just every pin I have, but, for instance, just the marquee pins I have. Or just the Beloved Tales that _I_ need, pins that friends are actively searching for, stuff like that... Made keeping different lists very easy.

Yeah, they have to be approved before they are put into the new database (that's why there pins in the old database that haven't (or won't) show up in the new one). I haven't tried adding a new pin in the old database recently (but have made updates to some via comments that got put in, so it's still being maintained). That's also why you can find the same pin in both databases, but with different pictures sometimes. I assume someone entered it in both places and uploaded their own images, so they don't always match. (I never looked to see if the numbers were different in that case, not sure how they are dealing with that...)

I wish they'd just make the new site a 'front end' for the old database, that way people that just don't want to mess with the new one would always have access to the old one...

I am so scared for the moment the old site disappears !
For me it's just such a useful tool ! I'm not ready to write down the info for every pin I own, trade or want. No one has time for that nor the organizational skills to keep those sorts of records.
The old site was so practical so WHYYYYY?? :(

I'm glad I'm not the only who noticed this... too bad, it's a little disheartening.

Yeah, it is sad. And it makes me paranoid that I'm missing out, too, tbh.

I first noticed when the MNSSHP pins didn't go up fast, and all the winter holiday pins have been added slowly (or not at all). A lot of the HKDL pins haven't been added either...

im not a fan of the new pinpics at the moment I searched specifically for a pin with its pin number and it showed me about 16 pages of options when I entered the correct number O_o

Im all for change for but at the moment pinpics aint worth anything in the current state its in for not having a fully functioning search engine that shows pins not even in the search criteria and not being able to add pins.

I dont know about any of you but I always go to the old site as it is a much better search engine and a lot easier to use. As they say - Dont try and fix what is not broken

As computer illiterate as I am, I could navigate the old site with ease. This new site confuses the heck out of me and I keep ending up somewhere I don't want to be or I can't find what I'm looking for. I was not good at adding pins but they were added so quickly before by others. I wish they could have just built the new site around the old site. Not completely re-doing it. Or I suppose I could learn to use a computer better :)

I must be in the minority, I like the new site. I really like being able to search in my pins. I will search for figaro and I can make sure I don't already have it. I can also search my wants the same way. I've had pretty good luck using + searches.

I've been waiting for the OE Russell from DSF to show up. I thought it just got overlooked. (Unless it's there and I just can't find it on either the old or the new site, in which case if anyone has the #, please let me know. :))

Glad it's not just me, then. For the past few months I've not found any of the newest pins and have had to resort to either adding them myself or at least submitting a picture while someone else writes the text. I've never had to be so active with the site as I am now. I don't mind, it's just surprising that someone like me, not a fanatical trader, is the one taking pictures these days. Still no Nightmare 20th pins or the Pocahontas surprise jumbo from DSF....which makes it difficult to trade with people online.

I'm with you. I haven't had any trouble with the new pinpics. I've even added a couple new pins with no issues. I like that I can view a members pins and hit compare and see which pins I want that they have with just one button. I also haven't had any problems searching for a pin :dunno:

I haven't used the new pinpics in a while, lol, so I haven't had the opportunity to figure out whether I like it more or less than the old site. But pintalk is moving over to yuku so if you have your old Dizpins id, you can use it there. I had to have yuku re-set my pw cuz I forgot
