This neat-o item ended today. Went for an amazing $2,425.00. :eek2:  Crikey! Most I have ever seen one sell for. It's my holy grail but at that price might be forever out of my reach!

This is the original Disneyland Cast Badge that cast members wore at Disneyland from 1955 until 1962, instead of name tags.

The badge is gold / bronze in color with light blue writing. The front is composed of three pieces, with the Magic Kingdom logo and the employee id number bolted into place on the main part of the badge.

Disney has made three replicas of this badge that could be purchased by cast members at Company D. All three have the number 1955. Apparently very few of the originals have survived. The Disney Archives does not contain one.

waaawwy! that's a lot :O has anybody thought that it could have been purchased for the disney archives? ^^^^ you posted like JUST before, i didn't notice

Yow. It is an extremely cool pin, and because it's also part of DL history, it's of interest to people other than pin collectors. That may also have driven up the price.

I believe the Disney Archives is selling a replica of this pin in the new Treasure Trove store at the D23 Expo on the second floor!
