Hi All, so I was going through my pictures from my recent trip to DLR and when I was thumbing through the ones of Toad Hall on Storybookland Canal Boats, I got to thinking. A dangerous pastime, I know (sorry, couldn’t resist).

What if there are Storybookland pins that have Toad Hall in it? I wouldn’t be Toad complete if that were true.

After some quick searching on pinpics, I came across the following, you be the judge.

And compared with my pics of toad hall on the ride.

I leave it up to this amazing community to decide. Either way, I have actually decided to collect Storybookland canal boat pins since it is my 2nd favorite ride at Disneyland (how did that happen?!?!). I’m borderline obsessed with the ride much to my wife’s bewilderment. I just love it so much!

On this last trip, I waited in line during EMH to ensure I was the first person on the ride and sign my name in the book. They apparently just finished the previous book so I was the very first name in the new book. Ask to check it out next time you’re on, I’m very first!

All of that to say that if that pin does indeed contain Toad Hall, I will be happy to acquire it and re-secure completist status. Plus, it’ll give me something new to obsess over as I wait for the pop up book to come out.

Thanks All!!

I consider myself jungle cruise complete. I have every pin that features the jungle cruise materially. But there are a few jumbos that have all the rides on them including a JC boat and I don’t have those because they aren’t “jungle cruise” pins. They’re “magic kingdom” pins. I think you’re good.

I had the same freakout because of the same pin. And did the same thing hunting up pics from the attraction. I realized OMG there's Alice on that ride - is there Alice on that pin and went off on a hunt to see what other Storybookland pins I'd need to catch up on. lol I feel your pain, but as a completist, it counts.

I like this logic a lot.

Thanks, everyone, for your input so far. My hope was that someone would tell me that I'm crazy and that's Snow White's cottage or Alice's house or Practical Pig's estate, but it appears increasingly likely that Toad Hall is, in fact, being depicted.

Although I do like @maiarebecca's logic that the pin is a storybookland canal boat pin, not a Toad Hall pin, the fact that it does, seemingly, have Toad Hall in the pin has given me some pause.

But then I ask myself, would it seem out of place to be on my Mr. Toad board? I think the answer has to be "Yes" since it's not really a Mr. Toad pin. And if the answer is "Yes", then it can't be a requirement to be a completist.

In the end, knowing my obsessiveness when it comes to all things Mr. Toad, it's going up on my Wants list (along with several other SCB pins since I do want to start a secondary collection of it) as soon as I can ever log in to pinpics. I don't necessarily think it is a must have to maintain or retain completist status, and it probably won't end up on my board (in part because it will be on some future SCB mini board), but I know I would always have that nagging feeling in the back of my mind, tormented that my collection would be incomplete without it.

I tend to have levels of completed-ness. So things like the Jumbos, where "one little element" is my Theme...those are like the last level.

For you, though, this doesn't help. :p

But yeah, if I were going to tag keywords on this pin... I would include Toad. It's the arch over the door and the window. Definitely, intended to be Toad Hall.

Just put it next to the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh pin with Owl and the deed. Same principle, IMO.

Put it this way. If someone asked you for recommendations for seeing "Mr. Toad at Disneyland," would you or would you not include Storybook Land? Or...what if Disney were to make a pin of the WDW Haunted Mansion Pet Cemetery that included the Toad tribute? Haunted Mansion pin? Or Toad pin?

IMO, Toad stuff is Toad stuff wherever it appears.

Here's the great thing about collecting pins: YOU and only YOU can define your collections. Would you define those pins as 'Mr Toad' pins or 'Magic Kingdom/Storybook Land' pins? It's an eye of the beholder question and the answer likely will be different for each collector.

Ask yourself this: how will you feel if you do vs don't add it to your collection and I suspect you'll have your answer.

I was at character corner (Orlando) tonight and I’m pretty sure I saw this pin, but I can’t remember how much it was. Hopefully they actually do have it and I’m not having hallucinations . Saw the pin (I think) and I thought of this post.

Many of those pins have been counterfeited.

Really? I’ve heard that Character Corner is much different. They have a ton of vintage Disney items and entire pin boards full of limited edition, Disneyland Paris, etc. look them up on YouTube. :) Many people will sell their pins to them and the pins are the average price you would see for them on eBay and stuff like that, I am curious to know if they are fake though, I did buy a pin there yesterday for 25$ so I hope it’s real.

@momin.ator was referring to the pin and series. That series, many of the styles have unauthorized versions. So you have to be extra careful. Even people with “mostly authentic” collections could have traded for a fake without knowing, then sold their collection and the buyer made assumptions based on the collection as a whole, etc. She wasn’t making a comment on the shop.
