1. Which shops in which parks sell the Piece of Disney Movie History pins?
-Downtown Disney: Pin Traders Store
-Magic Kingdom: Frontierland Trading Post and *possibly* The Emporium on Main Street
-Epcot: Pin Trading store near the front of the park (between Spaceship Earth and the large fountain)
-Hollywood Studios: have never seen PODM pins there, but I would assume they sell them at the pin store under the giant sorcerer's hat
-Animal Kingdom: Island Mercantile (there is a pin cart outside the store where these pins will be)
-Also, various resorts may sell them...I believe someone on here wrote that they got some of these pins at a gift shop in the Contemporary once...
2. Would I have to get to said shops pretty early in order to pick up decent cells?
It really depends. No one will know until the pins come out what the selection of cells will be...if there are plenty of good cells with main characters featured on them it will be less of a rush to "get the good cells". Also, if you are going to be here in March I'm assuming you are talking about the Monster's Inc Release? I wouldn't be too worried about that one...the Finding Nemo pins were there for quite a while (with good cells) after they were released.
Also, the Downtown Disney location will probably be the most crowded because you do not need a ticket to get in there.
3. Does WDW celebrate St Patrick's Day? If so, what do they do?
I don't believe the Disney Parks will be doing anything special...although they may have special St. Patrick's Day ear hats and a pin or two.
The UK pavilion at Epcot has a British pub and I'm sure they will be busy, but I would think the most popular place for St. Patrick's Day will be the Irish Pub at Downtown Disney called Raglan Road.
4. Is there free Wi-Fi in any of the parks or the Disney Village? If so, where abouts?
I want to say no...but I'm not positive. I believe they just started carrying free Wi-Fi in select resorts on property. Also...there is a McDonalds on property near Animal Kingdom/ Blizzard Beach that I have heard of people going to for free Wi-Fi.
5. Is there any night clubs/bars in the Disney Village, or have they all gone now?
They are all pretty much gone except for Raglan Road, and Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. Might I suggest:
-Drinking around the world at Epcot- although they typically close at 9 PM.
-Taking a monorail/ boat tour of all of the deluxe resorts and stopping for a drink at each.
-Taking a trip over to CityWalk at Universal...it's about 15-20 minutes away and has a much more "happening" nightlife. Also for St. Patrick's Day Pat O'Brian's at CityWalk will be very popular.
6. Do you know of any March attraction closures other than Toon Town and Big Thunder Mountain?
I think those are the biggies, but:
-If you enjoy the "classic" rides, Snow White's Scary Adventures is closing for good on May 31, so I would be sure to ride it one last time.
-Also...parts of Toon Town (now a circus-themed land) may possibly be open while you are there. I think Dumbo re-opens on March 11.
-The Liberty Square Riverboat is closed until May.
-The Magic Carpets of Aladdin will re-open on March 10...so you should be able to ride that.
-Also, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street is under refurbishment until March 27.
-Over at Epcot, Test Track is closing in April for a lengthy refurb and apparently they are doing a major overhaul of the attraction. So if you want to ride this "in it's current form" I would also make sure to do that. And the Tutto Italia restaurant at the Italy pavilion will be closed while you are there.
-Typhoon Lagoon is closed until March 17, so that should re-open during your trip.
8. Is the Fantasia mini golf course still there? If so, which hotel do I need to travel to to get to it?
Yes, it is still there. The golf course is not connected to any hotel, but it is in the Epcot Resort area. If you would like to use Disney Bus transportation to get there...take the Swan/ Dolphin bus.
If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can't take a bus from your resort to another resort- only to one of the theme parks or Downtown Disney. So for instance, if you were staying at the All-Star Movies resort, you would need to take the bus from your resort to Epcot, get off your bus, and then get on a bus to the Swan/Dolphin, get off that bus, and walk to Fantasia Gardens.
