Trading New Disney PODM pins for Older PODM pins?

So I've been receiving requests for older Disney PODMs that I have (Bambi, Peter Pan, etc.) for the new Disney PODMs (particularly the Little Mermaid) and as a lot of you who have been collecting PODMs since they first came out (Snow White) know that the first year of PODMs, many of them came with really bad scenes and very few good ones (Ex. only forest and no characters in Bambi and only shadows over buildings in Peter Pan) or the very funny "butt scenes". So my question is this -

Do you think it is a fair trade to trade an older PODM with a "good" scene that is known to not have very many "good" scenes for a new PODM that has no "bad" scenes, such as The Little Mermaid?

I think the older ones should be harder to trade for, unless the scene from the new one is absolutely amazing, like a scene with all the characters or a kissing scene. But yes, for the most part, I would probably trade two new PODM with decent scenes for one older PODM with a nice scene, but that's just me :)
 
I love giving my opinion on anything...lol... Personally I am older and have a stronger tie to the classics as apposed to the newer Pixar movies... So I prefer year one PoDM's... So I would trade a top Tangled cell for a Top Snow White and so forth... But that is an easy call for me to make since we are collecting again and are able to get the new cells where as we were not collecting for a few years and missed all of year one... That's just my opinion on it... As well as my putting it out there that we want ALL of your year one PoDM's...LOL... Send us your scenes we will send you our money or our traders...LOL

Haha :lol: I am waiting to see what auctions you put up before I trade them so we'll see :)

That is too funny... I sent a PM to someone about selling me their traders... Their response to me was... So you like those pins huh... and that was it... no offer to sell... It kinda makes me wonder if they are hoarding them for my auctions... LOL

Hey Goofy Moe, i saw you have 10 podm in the top ten, i was wondering what the other 2 podm were from 2011 or if anyone knows a List of all the PODM released and/pr to be released???

Okay, so I might be a little wrong on the years (and only 2012 is completely in order of release!), but I know these are definitely all of the movies released so far:

I guess you just trade for what you like movie wise and then scene wise.... All the newer ones are still very popular and unless you already have one they cost an arm, leg, and first unborn child to get......
 
Maybe I'm confusing two series...but wasn't there one or two of the 2011 pins that made it to 30 days on the racks and showed up on DisneyStore.com???
 
At WDW, Snow White was on the shelves for at least three weeks. I know someone that works at the Emporium (where they used to sell these, but no longer do)...they said that people would run into these pins and because they are heavier were knocked off the racks onto the ground and the cells would get cracked. This person said that they personally put at least five of them in damages...so who knows how many more were damaged. They were probably either trashed or ended up in Property Control and sold for cheap.

I also saw the Jungle Book PODM's at the Disney Outlet about a month after they came out...
 
Ive seen the Snow White PODM pins going for over $230 on ebay right now.... Its sick. Id LOVE to get one of those, but not for THAT much $$$. I suppose it comes down to how much people want the pin, even if its not a good scene. I got a Dumbo PODM off ebay, and its just a cell of hyenas.($55 Ill never see again...) I would have loved one with Dumbo in it, but in my case, I just want the pin for my collection. Id trade one of the Pixar films PODM for a Year 1 PODM pin. But thats me. I love the classics I grew up with, and will take those over Pixar pins ;) 2D FTW! :dumbo:
 
What I've been finding, sadly, is that no one wants my Dumbo scene. I've been getting requests for it EVERY DAY for little mermaid and no one wants it because it doesn't have Dumbo in it. Weird. I bought it because I liked it but now have moved onto other pin likes. I guess I'll keep my head up and maybe someone at the PTN this Friday will like it. haha.
 
Even though these pins are all LE2000, I tend to think of them of as mystery box set with multiple images, even though there is no physical box. So while this year's scenes are better than last, there are still rare scenes that might fetch a good scene from last year's. Take the Little Mermaid release, there appears to be very few scenes with Triton, so consider him like a "chaser." So if you really want Triton, maybe it is worth a Snow White. If any LM scene would work for you, than maybe it's not.
