Now I don't normally get too upset about a lopsided trade offer via pinpics because well, we've all done it before, whether as a newbie or by accidentally clicking a box we shouldn't have. But this morning, I had an experience that really just "got my goat." Someone offered their Designer Ursula pin for my Tangled Opening Day pin (pin 80648) through trade assistant. But then they followed up the request (without a reply from me) with a personal email stating that the request was unfair to them and that they were actually offering their Designer Ursula for my Tangled Opening pin AND my designer Snow White pin. Say what now? This person also frequently sells on Ebay so they knew what they were offering. The designer villain pins are amazing, but they're not worth that much.

Wow. I've been offering the villain designers I have for the Tangled opening day pin, among others, but I certainly wouldn't want a designer princess on top of it O.o talk about thinking their pins are worth pure gold!

I can't stand people like that. I keep track of people that try to shark me like that and try to never send them trade requests or read requests from them.

Wow; didn't know anyone could follow up with a personal email on top of the request! You learn something new every day. :)

That's really dumb. And sort of rude when you think about it. The way people get off. You know, that upsets me.
Here's what I would say to that guy who emailed you back:

"Get a life Man! There's more to life than pin trading!"

I know I send bad trade requests on a regular basis, I don't do it on purpose, but it happens. I should get better about checking what i'm sending to who, but mostly I just check the pins i'm willing to trade. Now I don't go offering a HM for a PODM, but still. Most of the time people ignore my requests. If I get a "no thanks", I also check what was offered and apologize if it's called for.
I get dumb requests all the time, but mostly I figure they're doing the same thing as me. Now, if someone was going to send me a message like that, i'd be annoyed.

+1 on everything right here :lol: That is a little extreme though, them asking you for a Designer Princess AND a very HTF Tangled pin... in my eyes, you'd be overtrading if you just gave them the Tangled pin! :lol: Things happen, but this person knew what they were doing :facepalm:

I'm getting a bit peeved with a couple of people on Pinpics who repeatedly send me trade requests for my DS UK LE500 pins for a rack pin that costs £4. C'mon folks, get with the programme!
Some people do take the mickey on there

It's true. Sometimes I look at my requests and wonder what the heck someone was thinking. If I keep getting the same lopsided request, yeah, that's bad. If it only happens once, I just figure they were clicking. But yes, some people do try to take advantage.
But i think that happens in all hobbies to some extent, doesn't make it right, but there it is,

I know I accidentally send out bad trade requests too, I usually try and go to pending requests and delete the ones that are lopsided, but I also try and include notes saying that I'm offering multiples, that counteroffers are welcome, to please let me know what they want from their want list, etc. I hardly ever get responses though. People just don't want to work something out these days, it seems.

yeah I had offered ONE of my designer princesses for ONE designer villain and they went through my "OWNS" and said they would only trade me Maleficent for the Tangled marquee, uhhh yeah hahaha NO!

and then they followed up and said they also wanted htf tangled pins for ONE villain! THEY CRAYYYY!!!

and they are a constant ebay seller with the same pinpics name!!! LOL :facepalm:

>< I know I sometimes end up selling pins I just got or even haggled for afford new ones that I realized I'd rather have instead and have also made silly trade offers because I had no idea what I was doing, but I recently had someone HARASS me to pay for a pin seconds after it sold only for it to turn out to be a scrapper and they told me to "cheer up, that's life and it's only a pin".

Really?! I try to be fair when I sell and only put such high prices because of fees or I simply have that small regret in selling the pin so I put more and if someone REALLY wanted it they'd do it but to be an a** like that? eck...

my philosphy is to TRY and send balanced offers. Sometimes I too use the "can trade multiples" comment. I DO try to edit out the lop sided ones after I've checked a lot of boxes...sometimes a few lop sided ones slip thru.

I have had multiple people respond that I was not offering enough when I asked to trade a designer princess pin for a designer villain pin (not Mother Gothel). To me, I think that is a pretty fair and equal trade. Some people want gold for their designer villain pins and I think they are going to realize they are not as worth as much as they think.

I lucked out and someone offered me Queen of Hearts for my Designer Rapunzel :rofl:

Probably it is the same shoppe owner as your offender.

My Trade assistant requests aren't always fair but I do add a note to counter offer or request for multi trades. Some people are just mean with the responces though. and that will only make me remember what type of person they are and never deal with them...

It's too bad that there are such rude people out there. :dunno:

But I must add on the Flip-Side I have met and Made some Great Friends through Pinpics and these Forums, so the way I look at it is you take the good with the bad <3 :)

I am new but I try to be fair...I recently was offered a trade for a Stylized Princess pin (mine) for a princess crest pin (theirs). With the exception of the Ariel and Rapunzel crests, I didn't feel that trade was really worth it. The Stylized Princess pins retail at 10.95 while a box of two mystery crests is 13.95. I politely said that the value didn't match up (plus I've seen this crest offered on EBay and here for sale for around 5.00-8.00) for me but if they were to include another pin (could have been anything, not LE ) I would gladly make the trade. I think they took that as lopsided and me being sharky because they sent me a reply that said something along the lines of "Guess it's worth differs from person to person". They are correct entirely and to me that wasn't worth it but I was very polite and kind and even responded with "No problem! Have a great week!"

My point is, in your trade for the Designer Villain, perhaps they honestly thought they were asking for a fair trade. That's why they think it's worth but ...that may not be what the MAJORITY of traders think it's worth. In any event, you also were in your full right to reject the offer :)

hmmmm... lets look at these pins.

DV Ursula 92498:: LE 200 t/w is 18/72
DP Snow white 86003:: LE 150 t/w 9/165
tangled opening 80648::LE 1000 t/w 6/283

Ursula is not as good a pin as either one of those, by far, The DV Ursula is a lesser pin than either one of them. To ask for both of them in exchange for Ursula is insane.

I want to make it clear that I'm normally not offended by a trade request. I understand that people can be new to pin trading and are learning. This particular incident just bugged me because this person is definitely not new to pin trading and is quite the Ebay seller. They knew very well what they were doing. And that's what was so irritating to me.
